Mileaway Posted October 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) The picture was too big to upload but you can see it at the following link. It really was cool to see. I'd never seen one before nor has anyone I know. Enjoy! http://thepinetree.net/photos/main.php?g2_view=slideshow.Slideshow&g2_itemId=61562 Edited October 9, 2010 by Still Waters Fixed source link

stevewinn Posted October 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2010 i think i have seen a sunbow but never thought of it as such, just classed it as a sunset.
aurora333 Posted March 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2013 I saw this sunbow in the Smoky Mountains one evening. I had to run back to my office and pull a friend out to see it too just to make sure I wasn't seeing things!
KovenantNebulus Posted September 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2013 If you live in a Mountainous area you see Sunsets on the daily. Especially if you live in a desert. El Paso, TX for example. All colors, red, purple, pink to purple... Nice
MissMelsWell Posted September 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 6, 2013 LOL, I didn't know "sunbows" were a thing... anytime we can see the sun (which is admittedly rare in Western Washington) you see a sunbow. It's pretty standard as the sun sets behind the Olympic Mountains likely because there's a lot of moisture and even ice in the mid and upper atmosphere. What I found fascinating was the huge number of Sun Dogs and Parahelic circles we saw around the sun this summer in my area... they were super neat! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parhelic_circle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dogs
