Is Ghost Adventures Real of Fake?

310 posts in this topic

So, what did you all think of that image Bill Chappell caught with his Kinect motion tracker at the Colorado Grande Casino?

That was pretty neat, especially when it waved back at him.

Look here when he explain and talk about his Kinect-device and software: http://www.youtube.c...AqnltyU#t=1445s

Look from here on where they get the image on screen, reacting on command and wave at them when Billy ask it to: http://www.youtube.c...AqnltyU#t=2150s

So, are they blatantly faking all this, or is it something else?

What do you think?

See the whole episode here:

Thanks for posting that. Hadn't seen that ep before.

It's good entertainment. I don't take it seriously. It's certainly more interesting to watch than that god damn boring Ghost Hunters International.

It's a hoot. Thanks for inviting us then they all get up from the table and walk away in different directions. At the same time. Every ep.

At least GA gives you your money's worth.

And Zak's hair. That has a life of its own.

Considering they have faked many things before, and considering no one has evidence of ghosts except these frauds, and frauds like them, I would venture a guess of " blatantly faked ".

I didn't know they have proven to blatantly fake. Is there proof of that, or is it just skeptic speculations?

I know that they, especially Zac, are overly enthusiastic many times. Some say they are just acting it, but I think that they are just that enthusiastic about this and it comes across as an act to some.

Zac's hair, and the rest of him and his behaviour, is a bit paranormal in itself. He goes on like a hurricane sometimes He might have one or two of those "letter-conditions" that is in ´fashion` these days. ;)

But it is entertaining and interesting.

I did watch both for different forms of a "thrill of the hunt", I guess. But my point was that the magic was lost in both once I lost the sense of realism. There was no switch of anything.

Yeah, it's hilarious. That I didn't mind the thick layer of fake so much, because they just look so funny arguing and blowing up at each other. It's like pro wrestling without the spandex.

[/background]

Blatantly faking anything is always an option. Like pointing a Kinect off camera in another room and feeding it to that computer screen in front of that guy. Now Microsoft gets free advertisement, the guy gets paid, and we all get spooked. TV win. I would have chosen the brick toss for scrutiny, instead of this.

seems like every "reality" show is faked these days. staged "hauntings" with false "evidence", planted "treasures" in storage shows and toy hunters. staged "conversations" within celebrity "voyeur" shows. i could get into some off topic discussion about how the american media is distorting the perception of what is "reality vs. entertainment" at the cost of our own mental perceptions of our own lives as a fractured society, but i'll just say that tv is caca.

In the Riddle House episode (I believe), there is some pretty strong evidence that they faked the birdcage being tipped over by a "ghost" or "spirit." You can see the supposed debunk on Youtube. I'm convinced that, in at least that case, they faked evidence.

GHI is actually pretty interesting. I like how they visit the older places in Europe.

But ya hahah Zak's hair does have a life of its own

There is proof they lied and made up things about Mackeys Slaughter house.....And meaning out right lies about the history.

There is proof they lied about their Virginia City investigations. ( I spent more then 20 years at Vrginia City on any given days or nights )

There is more then solid evidence for the " brick toss ", the " ghost hand ", and many others.

They have all been discussed, and posted in numerous topics here alone.......( happens with every topic, they get buried, forgotten, then a year or more later, a new, same, topic is made that starts the debate all over...Even though it has been gone through with a fine tooth comb all ready. Same as the TV shows do, they do not look for past evidence or investigations either.

If you can not find them, I will try to find time to give you the information.

Also, I did not know they have proven anything to be blatantly, hell, remotely real....Is there proof of that?....Or is it just blind faith believer speculations?

:innocent:

Sure, I will do your work for you......" google ", " search function here "....

There is proof they lied and made up things about Mackeys Slaughter house.....And meaning out right lies about the history.

I am not going to do all of the searching you could be doing, I have no need to re-prove again what has been proven. I believe in this video they make the claims of the stories below being fact..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drtb0ML-aIE.......If not there, on another episode. It is not hard to find. Even the other frauds TAPS points out the false stories about Mackeys on their episode. ( not using them as a source, just saying )

According to urban legends and modern folklore, the location allegedly houses a "gateway to hell" and is haunted by spirits including Pearl Bryan, whose corpse was found in a field several miles from the site in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.[1][2][3] Unsubstantiated stories include Bryan's murderers being Satanists who, according to fanciful tales, cursed the location and vowed to haunt everyone involved in prosecuting the case.[4] Also according to urban legend, sometime in the 1930s a pregnant dancer named "Johanna" committed suicide by hanging in a dressing room at the Latin Quarter club, which then operated inside the building currently housing Bobby Mackey's. Rumor has it that this deed was carried out after her father murdered her lover, a singer at the club, though investigations have failed to find police reports of this event ever having taken place. Furthermore, scholarly research into property music records, newspapers, and court files has failed to substantiate most of the fanciful claims made regarding the sanguine history of the location, and no connection between the site of Bobby Mackey's and the Pearl Bryan murder has ever been established. Most who have studied the Bryan slaying have concluded any claims to either Bryan's death or dismemberment at the Wilder, Kentucky structure are unsupported by a foundation of hard fact, and place these popular accounts into the realm of the tall tale.

According to Bobby Mackey, the site was originally used as a slaughterhouse in the early 19th century and later torn down for construction of a roadhouse that took on various names, such as The Brisbane, until he purchased it in 1978.

This is just a small bit of what is out there. There is a interview with a Sheriff Deputy in Virginia City pointing out claims that could not have happened. It is all our there for anyone that is willing to take the time to investigate it.

Yes, the Shadow Hand is an easy debunk. Also, I believe they've "stretched the truth" on their Old Town San Diego episode as well.

Dm08, I’m home now. I went to Travel Channnel online and after filing out a contact page, I submitted:

Dear Travel Channel, My question is regarding to the TV program “Ghost Adventures.” I’ve watched the program from the beginning and enjoy it very much. My question is about the paranormal evidence that Zak, Nick, and Aaron record. Over the years they have presented video and audio images/voices from another realm. Are these images and voices truly of ghosts, demons, spirits, etc? Or, is faked imagery and audio added during production? Bottom line: is it real evidence of ghosts, demons, spirits, etc, or is it faked? If you can’t provide an answer, can you please provide an avenue to the Ghost Adventures team so I may pose the questions directly to them? Thank you, Ron.

Assuming I get a response back, I will post it here.

I just found an Email address that goes directly to the Ghost Adventures Crew.

I sent them basically the same verbiage as above.

I don't believe in Ghost Adventures. I'm not saying they're fake, just that there isn't any proof to consider them as legitimate.

That show is so unwatchable, that I can't keep it on long enough to make a judgement.

Fantastic! I hope you get a response. I'm very curious to see what the producers/GAC say. Like I said, I'm a huge fan of the show (never miss it), but I'm quite skeptical about the evidence they find.

Hi All,

Sorry, but no response from Travel Channel or Ghost Adventures Crew.

I doubt that there will be a response over the weekend. I don’t foresee a response next week, being Thanksgiving week, either.

If I get a message back, I will post; wouldn’t hold my breath, though.

Good luck! There is probably some deskbound flukie going to read it and give a non-committal response (if you get one) about how Travel channel's docutainment program does not reflect the views of Travel channel and its endorsers. That this program serves strictly entertainment purposes and maybe also make mention of its viewing audience popularity.

I'm absolutely amazed that Travel Channel or the GA production company wouldn't reply to your urgent demand.

Who do they think they are?

People running an entertainment business? Well, that just beats everything, including Thanksgiving.......

Antilles,

Thank you for putting a big smile on my face.

I wouldn't call the emails urgent, but I would like an answer.

This can't be the first time that this particular question has been asked,

We'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks again for the sarcasm; you hit a funny bone and made me laugh.

Ron

I think it's genuine for the most part. The nice thing about 'the three stooges' as we refer to them is that they are ...how shall I put this delicately...very simple folk. As such, they aren't capable of sophisitcated lying necessary to pull of hoaxes week after week. If any funny business was going on, it would likely be the staff tricking them and getting genuine reactions from them. Though some of the stuff they've caught is impressive and candid.

I think they're great chaps all in all. What is it with Nick and the spirits always saying "hate Nick!"? He's the level-headed one.
