Funny how all the Americans on here she it as Justice and how they could not of been convicted under their legal system. I wonder how many of them still are aware they are keeping people locked up in in Cuba without trial for around ten years now.

Whoever is saying it wouldn't have happened in America drank the Kool-aid. They know nothing about our real criminal justice system. They are living in that "American land of the free and home of the brave" bull fantasy world. We have a criminal justice system that expands even greater than our prison system. You should include social services and all the peopel they trap in that system too.

Our press and many others may boast about it, I don't. The press boasts about it because the same people who own and control our justice system own and control our press!

We could get into the Rodney King case didn't the press air the video of those police officers beating him to pulp but they still got off.

Justice is blind. Its all about probability and we do get it wrong. I even think that dna may be releasing people from jail that actually committed the crime they were convicted of. I dont even think dnA is dropped all the time at the crime scene, and also someone can cover their tracks. The justice system is such a religion based on their god DNA. Amanda's press conference after her appeal seemed like a girl trapped in a prosecutions vice.

I think they are innocent and i think the media have been disgusting through out this on both sides. But so has the Italian system. You only have to speak to someone like my Father who has a total media impressed view of Amanda, that she was a wild girl into drugs and sex games. I asked him where did he get that idea from, was it factual or was it what he read/heard as being speculated. Even though he understands my point, it still taints his opinion that being "young, pretty and promiscuous" means if accused of something then must be guilty. This way of thinking and the fact the media can manipulate so much shows how guillable people are without realising.

I'm with those who say that there never was the right evidence to convict either of them. The Italians have shown the world what a mockery their system is. However i do think Guede is guilty.

Now we just need to show what a mockery our system is. It's a corporate scam like everything else in this country. Why is it we go to other countries and point fingers but we never do anything about the injustice in our own? Could it be because the majority are on the payroll?

And why don't you fill us in here on the details, that proof that shows she did it. Good luck since there arent any. The knife the prosecution held so tightly too didn't fit the victims wounds, one guy already confessed to killing Kurtcher, and for a reduced sentence he pointed his finger at 2 innocent people. There's much much more evidence that points to the fact that she wasn't there at all.

Her parents don't know her Italian boyfriend--Amanda hardly knew him having met him only the week prior!. No money came from there.

If the American system supported her I never heard about it other than the court documents her parents gave to local Seattle judges who read the documents and were disgusted by the miscarriage of justice, some even wrote letters to the Italian prosecutor (who's also a judge?!) Beyond that, I didn't see any support coming from her government.

And are you kidding she got media support? The Media BLASTED her. She was a complete villianess after the arrest, pretty much everyone including me thought the girl was a whack job. Until, the details and lack of evidence that came out in the circus that is the Italian courts came out. Then the even more glaring lack of evidence that came out during the appeal. There isn't one single piece of evidence that points to the fact that she was there much less a killer. So I'm not sure where you're getting your opinion. Is it because she lied after 36+ hours of interrogation? Trust me, if you were verbally assaulted for 36 hours about something you knew nothing about for 36 hours straight, you'd lie too just to make them go away. This is why this kind of interrogation is not allowed in the USA. It causes people to make false statements. This is why in the USA you're allowed to request an attorney and the questions stop. Not so much in Italy.

So what evidence do you have that I seem to have missed that this girl is guilty of anything? Do you base your opinion on what the media delivered to you? That shes weird? That's generally not a good reason to prosecute someone and put them away for life. What evidence do you have besides what you heard in the media that she's schitzophrenic and nacissistic (and I haven't even seen the media say that!)?

I'm fairly certain you know nothing about this case what-so-ever or you have been listening to the media too much. Hell, even the Kurchers now realize the italian judge totally lied to them for years.

If you want some more reading about other cases the Italian courts have massively bungled read about the Monster of Venice. They put something like FIVE people away for life for committing those murders over the years. All were innocent.

A voice of reason in a field of rash judgement - there are a few docos out there on this - do some real investigating people before you condemn her, I'm glad she's home but it's a pity people will still judge her on that damned prosecutors crap story and the Italian medias love of sensationalism.

People wake up. It did not matter whether she was guilty or innocent because the US put the pressure on Italy to release her. I was watching a news story about her and they interview DONALD TRUMP who said he always believed she was innocent. IF Trump believed in her then you know other billionaires and even Obmaa felt the same.

So why would they release her? BECAUSE ITALY IS BANKRUPT AND WILL SOON GO DOWN THE DRAIN LIKE GREECE. The last thing they needed was to get Americans angry at them. Soon they will be crawling to Uncle Sam for bucks to save their country.

Remember: money talks, BS walks.

Considering we do not have any money to lend, I kind of doubt this is the case.

Isn't this always the case? I doubt many average Americans could even name the victim. They don't seem to think about whether a person is innocent or guilty, all they care about is that a fellow citizen has been jailed abroad which to them is an injustice.

Now she is carefully screening what she says to make sure she can sell her story to the highest bidder. In all of this not a single bit of regard or compassion shown to the victims family.

I think most people who followed the case know the victim's name and do think about whether a person is innocent or guilty. I think you are projecting.

Firstly, I would happily denegrate all sensationalist media in my country and frankly I quite often do.

Secondly, where do you think I come from, it can be crazy here but it is hardly THE land of sensationalism?

Since she's been home here in Seattle, she's been very quiet. The media here is leaving her alone. One local radio station offered to pay her a great deal of money to come into their station and give and interview and she declined. So she's not the media whore everyone thought she'd be.

just read ur text its so full of bs i cba to reply all, i dont follow the media to believe it, i saw her and i make my own judgements. and i cant prove it as i wasnt there when it happened but i watched and read about her, it doesnt take a genuis to see that shes hiding something. i know alot alot of ppl with different personalities, and shes very typical one of the manipulative narcisst kind of girls. go educate yourself and read about narcissm. such people can have many personalities and fake their other personality so well its almost natural, because they live it. can also be thick-headed and shallow, which can be seen very clearly by her behaviour and disrespect to victims family.(cmon your roomate just been brutally murdered in same room where you sleep) her family, his dad doesnt look like a type of person who has much control, could be typical narcisst feeder

of course u dont understand any of this, then now answer me this:

if shes really, trully GENUINELY innocent, which means she DIDNT kill the victim nor she participated in any way,

1: why did she change her story several times? if you'are innocent you just tell what happened

2: why was she so glad for her release, and making a weak happiness speech when she arrived, if i had to sit in prison for 4 years for NOTHING, sure id be extremely p***ed, as i shouldnt land in that place anyway

3: why did she point finger at her former employer, as a revenge of being fired, another "intelligent" move

4: she claimed( from what've read) she took a shower just after the incident, did you see the pictures how the bathroom looked like? with tons of blood smeared on walls and floor. i dont think a normal person would a shower in bathroom with blood of her roommate smeared all over the wall.

5: also from what i've read, the boyfriend got a knife collection or interested in knives and they found that the couple watch violent anime porns jsut before the incident

i dont know the details, i cant possibly know about the true evidence, but from what i see, alone by the claim of people that shes innocent because she looks harmless and pretty, just makes it offical that people are simply too ignorant and stupid to judge. why nobody talk about the other persons who were involded, the italian and black guy, because they are just uninteresting..they killed the hardest evidence (dna) and italians didnt investiage the case as whole, anyway

after all, everybody believe what they want to believe and nobody can change it

Hahaha, you based her innocents or guilt based on what then since you don't follow the media. There's your lie right there. You don't watch the media, but you watched and read about her? (your words, not mine) so where did you get your information? LOL Of course you followed someone's media. I do not know whose media you followed though. Could have been Italian, could have been British, could have been American. (I read all three at various times for three sides of the story)

I know exactly what narcissism is (and I know how to spell it too!) and nacissists don't have multiple personalities. Narcissist have an uncontrollable focus on themselves. If she were truly a narcissist, she'd be all over the media here in the USA and the world talking about herself and making appearences, which she isn't doing. She's been avoiding media so far. Narcissts crave power, they never think of anyone but themselves and only want to talk about themselves, they insist they're superior to everyone else. She's never done this nor exhibited any of these classic traits. Prior to her arriving in Italy, she was a good student, a hard worker, a quiet personality, and had friends. None of that fits with pathelogical narcissism.

And if you don't think I understand, you may be projecting your discomfort with your own ability to communicate in the English language. I will be willing to perhaps go on the assumption that your first language might not be english and you'll get a pass until I know otherwise.

if shes really, trully GENUINELY innocent, which means she DIDNT kill the victim nor she participated in any way,

Sure let's look at that since it's so easy to make snap judgements:

1: why did she change her story several times? if you'are innocent you just tell what happened

And she did within the first hours of being interviewed. Then over the next 36 hours, the police continued to press her and verbally assault her, she couldn't call a lawyer like she could have if she'd been in the states. She was forced by the police into making false stories and false statements out a hoplessness. There's a reason police aren't allowed to interrogate suspects like this in the USA. It causes people to make false statements, and change their story. This is why in the USA when you are no longer willing to talk to the police you can ask for an attorney and the questioning stops.

2: why was she so glad for her release, and making a weak happiness speech when she arrived, if i had to sit in prison for 4 years for NOTHING, sure id be extremely p***ed, as i shouldnt land in that place anyway

Again, she'd been up and hounded by the media for 48 hours straight, a 9 hour time change, 2 flights and a full day of court all with no sleep. The poor kid was exhausted. You could see it by looking at her!

3: why did she point finger at her former employer, as a revenge of being fired, another "intelligent" move

See #1. And lest you forget, the real killer, who is still in jail who was also verbally assaulted by police pointed the finger falsely at Knox and her boyfriend.

4: she claimed( from what've read) she took a shower just after the incident, did you see the pictures how the bathroom looked like? with tons of blood smeared on walls and floor. i dont think a normal person would a shower in bathroom with blood of her roommate smeared all over the wall.

Except she was never at the apartment during or after the killing. She was found 20 minutes after Kercher died at her boyfriends house. I think you may have misunderstood something there. That's not enough time to kill, destroy DNA evidence (which is impossible to destroy anyway unless you're going to pour bleach all over everything, and no bleach was found) get cleaned up, and wait for police at a location across the village, who arrived just 20 minutes later. The time window is too short for all that. Did you know that the police didn't even collect the DNA evidence until a month and a half AFTER the murder? After the scene had been contaminated by police, media, etc... the DNA is in no way reliable.

5: also from what i've read, the boyfriend got a knife collection or interested in knives and they found that the couple watch violent anime porns jsut before the incident

That's what the Italian prosecuter said right at the trial. There's no facts or evidence to back that up. Yet, the man, Rudy Guede, who is in jail for 16 years was found with a knife that may have been the murder weapon. No one examined it. He is likely the killer, what few fact there are seem to point to him, but we may never know because the investigation was botched from the beginning.

i dont know the details, i cant possibly know about the true evidence, but from what i see, alone by the claim of people that shes innocent because she looks harmless and pretty, just makes it offical that people are simply too ignorant and stupid to judge.

Pretty and innocent? She's plain at best. So the media was calling her "Foxy Knoxy" but she is neither pretty or "foxy" ... if you looked at her on the street you'd think to yourself, there goes an average girl, if you even noticed her at all. I'm afraid friend that you've been influenced by the media.

why nobody talk about the other persons who were involded, the italian and black guy, because they are just uninteresting..they killed the hardest evidence (dna) and italians didnt investiage the case as whole, anyway

Everyone talks about Rudy Guede, most people are pretty convinced he did it, he confessed he had. He hasn't really changed his story, they know he was there, but to get a reduced sentence, the prosecuter and police basically forced him to falsely implicate Knox and her boyfriend. The Italian prosecuter wanted Knox so bad, he lost his mind and damn the evidence or not. He's been known to screw up other cases in the past, he has a very poor track record in his juristiction.

I have followed this case in the media quite regularly, I have also watched a couple of docos on it - wish I could remember the titles, maybe 48 hours or some such but there was enough there to convince me there was nothing there when it came to her guilt - I just do not see it, and so far what I have seen from those who do is the type of rash trial by media judgements that would be thrown out of any court of law anywhere.

Do you really believe this is somehow racist? That would be incongruous at best but gee thanks for the rash judgement

I equate this to the Lindy Chamberlain fiasco we had here in Australia - do you know who she is "Dingo took my baby?"

Well, what do you know, millions of dollars in court case, a conviction, appeals, overturning of the verdict and a destroyed family later, after all was said and done, the simple answer turns out to be the most correct - the Dingo did take her baby.

Bottom line, I've seen this all before, quite a few times actually.

theres no point to discuss this with you further, your opinion is biased, you read the media and believe what u want. and you know nothing about narcissm personality disorder, now you are starting point my grammar mistakes, i dont need to write perfect im german. narcissm has many variations and cant be easily defined, so u cant "exactly know" what it is, you need to experience it to have the slightest clue. all psychatrists who got their education just by reading books and learning facts all fail.anybody is capable for doing anything under right circumstances, maybe you should go outside and meet different kinds of people. you seem to be following the media so often, have you heard about the school massacres, where "innocent, pretty looking kids who wouldnt hurt a fly" takes guns (more than one) start shooting and killing other students? and they blame video games for that haha, another proof how stupid we are. just an example of many others http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnenden_school_shooting, heres an average kid for you, look what he done

u say guy ruede did it alone, but by evidence it was proven that one person couldnt do it, who were the others then?

Great post, MMW.

Don't forget that she didn't have a qualified translator during the initial interview. Also, the Italian police asked her to "imagine" what "could" have happened, time and again, during that initial interview--which the prosecution turned into her 'official' statements. She was denied effective counsel for the first 48 hours of her custody--a blatant violation of Italian Law.

Please... even the KGB would have let her go after talking to her for 20 minutes.

Thank you mklsgl... some people just make uninformed decisions about something then hold on to that belief unwilling to consider that there may have been more than they initially understood.

I think when I initially heard about this case 4 years ago, when she was first taken into custody, I figured that there was a good chance she could have done it. However, once the trial started I began to realize that my first impression was completely wrong. I'm always open to being wrong when there are facts involved. After hearing all the details, I now believe the vast majority of the truth of her involvement is out. She had nothing to do with it.

theres no point to discuss this with you further, your opinion is biased, you read the media and believe what u want. and you know nothing about narcissm personality disorder, now you are starting point my grammar mistakes, i dont need to write perfect im german.

That's what I expected. See? I'm a pretty good judge. I judged that you probably weren't another under-educated American, but likely european or other whose first language was not English. I said if that was the case, you were off the hook for your grammar. You're excused.

narcissm has many variations and cant be easily defined, so u cant "exactly know" what it is, you need to experience it to have the slightest clue. all psychatrists who got their education just by reading books and learning facts all fail.anybody is capable for doing anything under right circumstances, maybe you should go outside and meet different kinds of people. you seem to be following the media so often,

I keep myself informed, the media must be used to inform oneself. However, when it comes to media, as a responsible reader, you have to separate the facts from the sensationalism. I'm pretty good at doing that since by trade and education, I'm a writer and an editor (although my current position is in computers and network engineering).

As far as going out and meeting people? I do a lot of that. In fact, I was in Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Turkey, and Croatia not too long ago. I've visited every continent in the world, except Antarctica and Africa (which I intend to visit next year after I sell my home). Heck, I've been to countries 90% of people have probably never heard of before. LOL.

have you heard about the school massacres, where "innocent, pretty looking kids who wouldnt hurt a fly" takes guns (more than one) start shooting and killing other students? and they blame video games for that haha, another proof how stupid we are. just an example of many others http://en.wikipedia....school_shooting, heres an average kid for you, look what he done

Did you think I wouldn't read the article? First of all, that young man was a mental mess prior to him shooting up a school. He was the classic loaner, disaffected, a poor student, and very angry at the turn of events in his life. He viewed himself as an utter failure with nothing to lose. This is NOT the profile of Miss Knox. She was a good student, happy, hard working, well liked by her teachers, friends and family. You laugh at the video game connection in the wikipedia article, but you then turned around and blamed Miss Knox for a rumor that she and her boyfriend were a watching violent cartoon porn? Isn't that the same thing? You've contradicted yourself there.

The fact remains that Miss Knox had no mental or emotional problems before Italy when she lived in Seattle, and didn't have any when she was in Italy, until her roommate was murdered. Is there something about a transatlantic flight that turns a girl into a crazed killer than I'm unaware of? (that's sarchasm).

u say guy ruede did it alone, but by evidence it was proven that one person couldnt do it, who were the others then?

There is no credible evidence that there was a second person, read a reliable source that proves there was, then show me that credible evidence. The second person aspect was NEVER proven by the courts. You're relying on the stuff you're reading in sensational rags. You're picking and choosing what you want to believe rather than reading an article objectively and putting the story together with the facts.
