Russian space experts are seeking to solve

This really is space junk: Russian space experts examine 200-kilo metal 'UFO dustbin lid' which fell from the sky in Siberia

Russian space experts are seeking to solve the mystery of 'a UFO fragment' which crashed close to a remote village in Siberia.

The 'silver U-shaped device' weighs 200 kilos, has does not appear to be a rocket or a missile - or a remnant of earthly space technology.

‘The object found is not related to space technology. A final conclusion can be made after a detailed study of the object by experts,' said the Russian space agency Roscosmos.

looks man made to me.

It looks awful intact and in good shape for having fallen through our atmosphere. I do not even see any scorching on it. Me thinks it is probably just industrial junk.

Already posted.

But I agree that it is unlikely to have fallen from the sky. Just look at it. Did that object pass through the atmosphere? No, it would have burned up. Did it fall any significant distance? No, it couldn't have survived intact and retained that shape with a significant fall.

What makes them think it fell from the sky?

What makes them think it fell from the sky?

Thats not from space. And even if it did fall from the sky wheres all the major dents from impact then? And in the vid the 'russian space experts' (laughable phrase really) just went up and rocked it a bit. Very scientific test that. Prolly kicked it a few times too, as you do...

Know what Catherine Tate would say about this?

People say "it would have burn marks on it" but has anybody thought it may have fallen from a "UFO" that was much lower to the ground, way below entry burning? Furthermore, if it's made of a very strong titanium (a very rough and strong metal composite, duh) then it's also possible there is no dent because of the height was much lower. Furthermore, it's going to be landing in several feet of snow AT LEAST, do you really think that one of the strongest materials we know of on Earth is going to dent when dropped into several feet of snow? :\

Anyways, not saying it's part of a UFO, not saying it's aliens, it could easily of been junk picked up by a tornado and thrown through the air, which, once again, would explain lack of dents/burn marks.

It's a wonder how anything credible or real gets noticed with all the huge amount of skeptics and debunkers. I believe in other life, do I believe in them coming here? It's possible, but it kills all buzz and wonder/mystery when people go "Durrrp herp fake" or try and debunk it.

People see the word "Space" and then think moons, stars, planets, instead of thinking.... If it's not of Earth manufacture, then it must come from elsewhere, therefore Space. Doesn't mean it fell from space. Sigh....

But it's probably just some trash, if not, I feel upset that aliens are using our planet as a rubbish (garbage if you're American) dumping zone.

I understand your point about many debunkers, but lets look at this another way

1: The Daily Mail ran the story, no doubt amongst others

2: If it was a mysterious drop from space, the military or similar would have took over, it would have been carted off to some secure hangar, and we will prolly never know anything about it.

And why do things of an alien/ufo nature always happen in Siberia?

Did anybody see it fall from the sky,I'll agree it isn't space born but it isn't from an alien craft either.

You have made the point I was going to make... saves me some time.

1. The trajectory was not tracked so no-one knows what height this object fell from

2. You do not use Titanium (or alloys) in water towers - the cost is just too prohibitive.

3. IF (big "If") something fell off of an extraterrestrial vehicle then why shouldn't it look fairly ordinary to us Humans? Should it be composed of highly exotic unknown, material, when all around us the elements that we know and understand are widespread throughout the Galaxy?

Just a couple of thoughts... nada mas

"it would have burned up on re-entry"

Since when does titanium burn up on re-entry? Unless it reached speeds over 30km/sec or +100.000km/h, and even then it would not burn up, by the time it got liquid it would have slowed down enough to get solid again.

The 'saucer' looks like its been there for a long time. I'm sure if it was a russian secret plane, the reds would have grabbed it right away instead of letting trees grow around it. Interesting.....

Just keep an eye on how many of these 'news' stories originate with articles in the Daily Mail.

What a comic that is now!

Never ceases to amaze how these E.T. proponents are so willing to jump to the least logical conclusion. There has to be 100 possible explanations for this, the majority of which make more sense than, "it fell off of an alien spacecraft".

Here's a video of it falling from the sky, and of it on the ground.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=whH6vxCxGcc

errm...No its not. Ive already searched on this story many times, as I do...and found NOTHING but the original vid

Thats a video of the moon, which then jumps to a man climbing a ladder to look at a broken roof and then to the object. So the scenes suggest, something in sky, falls and breaks a roof, and next is on the ground.

Which is the video attached to the news in the OP.

All of which is totally at odds with the alleged story that it was 'found' in the woods, and was dragged back to where it is now.

Why show a broken roof? That thing will have flattened that building. This is the problem with this story, nothing makes any sense

Does not appear to be from earthly missiles or rockets

Russian space experts say, 'The object is not related to space technology'

So where else has it came from? Did a waterbank just burst and throw this huge thing 1000's of feet up in the air. if it was anything realted to Russia then they wouldn't have even let the story get out.

And like others have stated Titianium would not burn to bits when its passes through the atmosophere, it could be from a seceret military craft (not Russia) or genuinly something out of space why is that so hard for you to comprehend.

EARTH, and how do we KNOW its made from titanium?

Number 1: Looks like its been cut with an oxy acetylene torch, seems to be more scrap metal in background..

and the Pièce de résistance?

Really really want to know?

Do you?

Its assembled on earth.

How do I know?

It has flat head SCREWS in it.

Not from this earth indeed...... see this page for more pics but sorry cant translate it

Yet more translation...as I got curios

Small Businessman of the Kuibyshev district was literally a celebrity. On Sunday night, he found a real rarity in the field - a huge metal object, like a part of the rocket. The wide cylinder, with the tip in the form of domes, fluted surface mounting with solid bolts ... 28-year-old Mikhail Bobrov came across this piece of iron, when he went into the woods.

- He - individual entrepreneur. In forestry it took Deleanu to harvest firewood, and Michael went back to the car. And about four kilometers from the village, next to the forest, I saw this thing, - said Irina Biryukov, a specialist administration Otradnensky village council.

The man brought the find to the village, and there really gave it to police. Guardians of the Law "sheltered" mysterious object in the yard department. No investigation, of course, do not spend - not in their jurisdiction. But among themselves wondering - what kind of "guest" lies in their dominions, where he was in the field?.

However, villagers in the Otradnensky - people are alert and sensible. They recalled that three months ago - December 27 - heard in the sky, thunderclaps. Date deposited in the memory is no accident - the local say in exactly the same day in Tuva, a strong earthquake happened. At first people to innocence and blamed the vibrations rumble the earth's crust. But now, of course, relate to events in the sky. They say that rattled when half a minute, was this evening. Maybe just in time for Earth flew notorious piece of iron?

It is noteworthy that at the very same day that shook Tuva, and when something unknown deafened Siberians, were tested at Baikonur. Namely - the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, "Stiletto." This apparatus, which is designed for "delivery" of nuclear warheads, which is protected from missile defense. The accuracy of hitting the target - 350 meters. In a word - a masterpiece of military equipment. His piece, perhaps, and landed in the Kuibyshev region.

Incidentally, in the neighboring region of Omsk is a deserted area, which for many years, spent rocket stages fall off. So that people suggest, one of the parts may have dropped by. Distance-is not large - 200 kilometers. This, of course, not "350 meters", but on intercontinental standards - a trifle.

Now you see how stories get twisted? Not ONE mention of falling from the sky..not one

:tu: Why thankyou kindly! Not often I get a compliment here, may even be the first in fact.

If only some folk would do a bit of google research instead of just read forums, believe and then argue about and defend a bloody news story..

Catherine Tate again?
