Did the disciples steal away Jesus' body ?

Understanding the restrictions of the Jews under the terrible yoke of the Law has caused Christians to miss important facts concerning the Passover. A Jews could not touch anything dead or be judged defiled before the Passover. It would cause them to miss out on eating the Passover. Christians usually don't picture how terrible that was for a Jew under the Law. The ones who arrested Jesus in the Garden led Him to the residence of the priest, Caiaphas. From there the high priest had Jesus taken to Pilate and to the judgment hall. They knew it was a rigged judgement and the sentence was going to be death for blasphemy. It was so imperative for them as Jews to eat the Passover that they did not enter into the judgment hall with Jesus lest they be found somehow defiled when the death sentence was declared.

The popular movies depicting the mourning mother of Jesus and other loving devoted followers embracing the bleeding body of Jesus on His way to death, attest to the ignorance among Christians concerning the Law and Passover. The scriptures say the people watched from afar. Mary the mother of Jesus and John were close enough for Jesus to speak and turn over the care of Mary to John, but neither of them touched Him. That's hard for a Gentile Christian to understand how a loving mother would not embrace her dying son. But such Christians are not understanding the Law. It was a terrible yoke compared to Jesus' easy and light burden called the Law of Liberty, which we Christians live under.

As Jesus hung on the cross, there was a terrible earthquake at noon and the earth turned dark from noon to 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. Jesus died. From 3 to 6 p.m. His body was prepared and put in the tomb. With the earthquake graves were shaken open and many bodies of saints were raised or strewn out of their graves. This insured no Jew would come to Jesus' tomb in the dark and take a chance of touching a dead body out of place and perhaps in walkways. This is the way God prevented anyone coming to the grave and stealing the body of Jesus.

When Jesus was resurrected alive from the grave, He was the first of the Firstfruits from the dead. Many saints also were resurrected to immortal bodies and the Bible says they appeared to many. Since they now had immortal bodies it is assumed they ascended into heaven with Jesus.

God bless us all.

If we assume that Jesus existed and did all that the Bible ascribed to him sans the being Son of God bit, then there are only two explanations for how his body disappeared out of the tomb - either someone stole it or the entire disappearance bit was a fabrication added at a later date. The later is self-explanatory while the former involves either the disciples or some other interested party.

I agree wholly with the latter. Just as i believe most of the "miracles" in the bible were "chinese whispers", of sorts.

I believe I showed how non of the Jews could have stolen away the body and it is understood that non of the Gentiles would care to. Since resurrected Jesus appeared to 500 people at one time, it wasn't a later fabrication.
