spud the mackem Posted April 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2012 I saw this article in a BBC (UK) news article about the search for E.T. they are asking if they can have some use of your personal P.C on a part time basis to track incoming radio signals from space in order to decode them, this is on a voluntary basis.. the site is seti@home.com..does anyone know anything about this site ?? StarMountainKid Posted April 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) I used to have seti@home installed on my computer. It allows you to participate in the seti program by crunching numbers for seti. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ My problem was when it was running on my computer it took too much cpu usage. I think it can be set to limit this, but I couldn't figure out how, so right now I've shut it down. It's a great program, though. Another one is Planet Hunters: http://www.planethunters.org/ I've been doing that recently. It's easy to learn how to do it once you understand the instructions.
