Facts about Orbs!

126 posts in this topic

Those who think ORBS are ghosts are wrong! A true ORB and I hate using the term ORB. Is a solid form of mass that generates its own light source. If its transparent its dust or a reflection of a moving object etc; Check out this article I wrote on our website that gives a brief explanation what to look for when examining a photo or video.

There are all ready dozens of articles, and evidence that show the same thing you are saying......( all posted here also )

A new one pops up every 3 months or so, and people still post pictures of their " orb " in a haunted place :(

Ignorance is bliss......

Fact 1 about orbs: they are not paranormal. Ever.

Any other "facts" are untrue.

If you chose true, then you should quit now before you get ahead of yourself. No seriously!

Heh, I like your warped sense of humor. It makes the writing pop.

A proofreader wouldn't go amiss... "Photographs are hard to come by" - huh?

Orbs were explained as mundane back in the 90s, way before digital became commonplace.

Do you have evidence to back your opinion up?..........

Next time you see one with your eyes, video tape it, and say exactly where it is, and where it is going....

There is plenty on orbs being dust, vapor, etc......

Already posted/discussed in other orb threads:

Over the last 30 years or so I have sporadically seen what I have perceived to be small self-illuminated balls of light (deliberately avoiding referring to orbs...), invariably either red or blue in color, and between 1cm to 5cm in size. I have seen these while conducting night photography research during which I have been capturing the mundane particulates orbs illuminated by the camera.

In contrast to the camera-illuminated particulate orbs which are obviously visible to the eye during the time of camera exposure/flash, not once have I been able to capture one of these apparently self-illuminated balls of light by camera on either film or digital media. As a researcher that raises a significant alarm, as it does make me question whether these balls of light actually exist in front of my eyes at all, or whether they are some sort of artefact like phosphenes, or indeed some defect, in either the eye or the optic nerve. So yes I have regularly perceived something strange, but even after all this time my personal jury is still out on what exactly these things are, but the lack of corroborating evidence by recording means does suggest to me that they are probably an artefact in the eye/optic nerve.

Yep you've seen things with your own eyes and eyesight is 100% accurate at all times. No illusionist can fool you. The next time you see water on a sidewalk on a hot summer day you just go right up and drink it since you saw it it must be real.

All flippancy aside, The old saying is true. "Your eyes can trick you" What looks real isn't always. You believe because you want to, not because you actually researched what you saw to eliminate all other possibilities. Belief is a powerful thing and it can be good at times but blind belief is almost always a bad thing. You should follow Sakari's advice.

I posted somewhere on here some pretty extensive links....

Involving tumors, and eye issues, all of these can and do make hallucinations of balls of light, and other things.......There many different things that can cause this, known things.

I really do not feel like searching through 6,000 plus posts to find it though.....It is here, as you said, in this site.

lol ? what are you talking about. ! summerday . hot . waters. ?

sure..

true .your eyes can trick you ..

true .about the believe. ..

but you really think i didnt reconsider that?

offcours MAYBE it could be my imagination .. offcours MAYBE it could be something that could be explained by science.

but i know for sure . it wasnt my imagination or something scientic can explain.

what i saw .. there were alot of them . in different size . and it lasted over an hour.

you might think now why i didnt record it. ! or taken pictures of it . and i still regret it .. but i was just affraid that it might be gone if i went to go and search for my camera.

well . things like this you would only see once a lifetime. i really should had search for my camera :(

and about sakari . that guy is someone that.. someone like me cant talk with. he tries to hard to think and to find answers. it is great that he can helps alot of people here.by providing scientific answers.

but he cant help me.or give me any advice. because i just know that there are things that cant be explained. by science.

me and him = x files . mulder and what was her name again? o yeah sakari = scully lol :P

Seriously... why can't people just have a friendly debate without making fun of anyone.

Besides, Orbs have been a topic for years. Whether they were discussed in the 70's, 80's or 90's. Today, a few TV shows discuss orbs being captured on video and photography. There are paranormal groups world wide that claim orbs are paranormal. Since they have been explained by those with experience and very good credentials, I'm just saying how important it is to keep things objective and keeping things real.

Not everyone is perfect and there is no such thing as an expert in the paranormal field. I shouldn't have to apologize but I do if this was posted several times. Its always good to have a fresh opinion on various subjects.Nothing wrong with that. :hmm:

:innocent:

Yes, it is possible.......And other medical ailments also.

As said, I posted numerous medical journal links, etc. on this.....Over a year ago, they are on another orb topic.....

6. Red flag: A small blind spot in your vision, with shimmering lights or a wavy line

What it means: An ocular migraine (also called an "ophthalmic migraine," "optical migraine," or "migraine aura") produces this disturbed vision, with or without an accompanying headache. Changes in blood flow to the brain are thought to be the cause.

More clues: The visual distortion starts in the center of the field of vision. It might appear as a bright dot, dots, or a line that can seem to move and disrupt your ability to see properly, as if you were looking through a pocked or cracked window. It's painless and causes no lasting damage. Individuals seem to have different triggers (ranging from chocolate, caffeine, and alcohol to stress). A headache, possibly severe enough to cause nausea, sometimes follows.

What to do: If you're driving, pull over until the phenomenon passes (usually within an hour). Do have an eye specialist check it out if vision impairment lasts more than an hour or so, to rule out serious problems such as a retinal tear; or if you also experience other symptoms elsewhere that could indicate stroke or seizure (such as fever, loss of muscle strength, or speech impairment).

I've had a physical in the last year or so and my doctor has not found any tumors! I'm pretty healthy! :tu:

Nothing in the Paranormal related to ghosts have been proven 100% scientifically. This is why they call it Paranormal. So technically anything is open for discussion. This part of the debate is healthy. Making fun of people for their grammar and making fun of people in general for posting their opinion is not cool.

I'd like to think because it is not 100& scientifically proven by scientists that there are unlimited possibilities.

Maybe you had a detached retina, or one of many other medical ailments. http://www.unexplain...showtopic=93834

" Nothing in the paranormal related to ghosts have been proven 100% " ........Yes, a lot of things have......Orbs for one....Low sound frequencies freaking people out subconsciously.......Electro Magnetic Fields ( if people would learn about them at the right place....Oh, here is a start : Real Information on EMF's link .....Power of suggestion....etc,etc,etc,etc,

Nothing " paranormal " related to ghosts has been proven to be " paranormal"......

Anyway, sorry, I went off topic again....

I have recently seen an eye doctor as well... almost 20/20!

Sorry, don't have a detached retina either. It is a good discussion for those who see them with the human eye.

Well, then read the link I posted, and use the search feature for the numerous other " see with eye " orb topics......Only 2 examples here.

So, what are you saying you are seeing?, you have me confused after reading your first post......And your article.

Hey, any page that describes how those transparent circles are an artifact of light and camera meeting, and blurring from lack of correct interpreting of what is actually in front of the camera, is helpful in my eyes. It doesn't matter how many there are out there. Yours may be the one that helps someone understand the idea a bit better. People will go out of control with an idea (like camera captured orbs caused by a light source), tying it to the paranormal. Your one short page of explanation helps in the fight to understand.

And it was done in a very clear, albeit short, way. Whether someone believes there are actual orbs floating around caused by spirits or not, they should learn that photographs and video capturing what would seem like those will never be taken seriously, for good reason.

First of all... I think all of you are misreading my post and article all together. Sorry for the confusion. I did not go into an in depth explanation. It was a basic understanding how some misinterpret or mistaken identity of orbs.

If you read my article, I'm pointing out the basic understanding. I'm just trying to help the paranormal community.

I can take criticism well but I don't get why I am being criticized for trying to help!? Geeze
