Mazz123 Posted April 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) My friend took this picture yesterday and after uploading them to the comp. she noticed some sort of glowing blue haze. I'm sure it's something to do with the light and the lens but I'm clueless as to this subject. Any explanations? ColoradoParanormal Posted April 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2012 Are you being serious in you don't know what it is? Or are you playing a joke with us? I can say with 100% certainty that this is lens flare from taking a picture of the sun my friend.
sarah_444 Posted April 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2012 Absolutly lens flare. It is a nice shot though, I love the rays coming from the sun.

Ashotep Posted April 27, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2012 A think it is caused by the sun. Look from the sun to the ground and you can see a streak.
ChrLzs Posted April 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2012 One common type of lens flare (this type!) puts a flare at the diagonally opposite location of the light source. Put an imaginary cross at the centre of your image, then draw a line from where the Sun is, through that point and extend it the same distance in the other direction from the centre point - and that's where the flare is. Definitely lens flare. It is pretty much impossible to avoid flares of various types when shooting into the sun and it doesn't even have to be in frame.. Englishgent Posted April 28, 2012 #19 Share Posted April 28, 2012 But does anyone know why the red circle is there, directly above the lens flare, as pointed out in my last post?
ColoradoParanormal Posted April 29, 2012 #20 Share Posted April 29, 2012 Forget the lens flare.......what's the red circle directly above it? edit,,,double post,,,soz Hey there friend, I've got a feeling that red circle is an artifact on the lens as well. If you notice the sun in the image, it has 4 points of Red jetting off of it. The bottom red flare is almost directly in line of this red circle and the anomaly the OP was speaking about.
