Apollyon3000 Posted May 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2012 Her hands are soft, gentle, and kind; Young and vibrant with no wear of time. One of her best attributes, and do you know why? They are hands of love, true hands of power! Her hands are strong: prepared with a purpose; To hold her loved ones and comfort give; To protect from life’s storms and teach how to live. All with hands of love, true hands of power! Her hands now withered and worn by time; There are those who would say, “It’s such a crime!” But we know better who have felt there touch; For they are hands that have given OH so much. Hands of love, true hands of power! I have felt, so many times, those hands loving embrace; Gently pushing me on to win this race. That soft and gentle pat on the head; That seemingly says, “Go on ahead.” With hands of love, true hands of power! Such hands are those as God intended; Whether young and smooth or old and withered. They are the hands of Mother and Grandmother akin; Moving in time with divinity over and over again. Hands that have given so much in care; All for the glories of Heaven to share. Such hands truly are: hands of love; true hands of power! Inspired by my 78 year old Grandmother who has been revaged by three types of arthritis for over sixty years. But I have never heard her utter a word of complaint.
Still Waters Posted May 2, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2012 I 'felt' this poem, it's lovely. Your Grandmother would be proud of you if she read this, and she would see how much she is loved
