Man shot through the neck by a 20in arrow

A father-of-two is lucky to be alive after he was shot through the neck with an arrow as he went for a walk in a park in Russia.

Konstantine Myakush, 38, was on a family outing with his two daughters near a sports centre in Moscow when he was struck by the stray 20-inch-long arrow.

The arrow, believed to have been misfired by a member of an archery club, would have killed Mr Myakush if it had hit him just one inch to either the right or left by piercing a major artery.

I bow hunted for 20 plus years, practiced a lot with field points ( like that arrows tip ).........

I am really having a hard time understanding a " miss fire " from a bow, or even a very bad shot.....This makes no sense....The arrow is either in the knock and on the shelf, or it isn't.....Can not let go if it is not, no one would do that...

Someone had to have been being a ass, a dumb one at that, and shooting into the air......

I don't know about arrows but I damned sure got shot through with lots of cold, baleful glares. I was in a relatively small but very old "village" called Yaroslavl and the people were NOT the friendliest. There's a thousand year old monastery museum there that's awesome though

Well...at least it didn't go through one of his eyes or chest area. Anyway, could've been worse.

Edit: Wow, missed the part about it coming close to a major artey...damn lucky!
