Human bones grown from fat in laboratory

Recommended Posts

Scientists have grown human bone from stem cells in a laboratory.

The development opens the way for patients to have broken bones repaired or even replaced with entire new ones grown outside the body from a patient's own cells.

The researchers started with stem cells taken from fat tissue. It took around a month to grow them into sections of fully-formed living human bone up to a couple of inches long.

The first trial in patients is on course to be conducted later this year, by an Israeli biotechnology company that has been working with academics on the technology.

Fascinating! That's very good news and I hope something becomes from it.

This will be excellent, as patients suffering from bone cancer will be able to have their limbs replicated via stem cells. :tu:

So, you complain about Socialism but are not willing to foot the cost yourself? So, because you can't afford anything like it and your insurance wouldn't cover it... you dislike Socialism?

Sorry if I've misunderstood but when the alternative to socialism is paying for yourself and you can't afford it, what's your argument?

I guess you didn't read how it happen right .... lemme ask you something why would I have to pay for the stOOpidity of others? Sorry to say my argument is "be responsible for your actions" and the French weren't but what can I say they're French and socialists.

Joking of course, wonderful nation. Okay, I see what you mean. You're saying it's Socialism's fault people make mistakes, I've heard more crazy things in my time here.

This is not what I say nor wrote. In socialist system there are special criteria to be a victim, criteria that I seem to be lacking.
