Preacher says NO to Thug Checkpoint

Charlie Prime

This guy has huge balls. When police state thugs demand that Pastor Steven Anderson show his papers, he tells them NO!

This same man was viciously beaten and tazed by border patrol thugs a few years ago, yet he's still standing up for his rights.

We need a million more just like him.

They would've dragged him out of the car through the window and tazed him 'till he started to smoke. Then they'd stash his wallet and deport him so he could begin his own real life adventure like Cheech Marin in "Born in East LA"

So you want tougher border laws but you don't actually want to submit to them.

That guy is my hero. If one's rights are to be respected, they must be asserted.

What state was this in, and how far from the border?

This guy rocks!! He handled himself in a very polite and staright-forwaed way. The fact that the police couldn´t make him go to the secondary check-point leaves me with the feeling that what they are doing is illegal.

"Police state thugs"? Really. They seemed very polite to me. They didn't slap him around, or verbally abuse him. I think they handled themselves very professionally. You ever think that maybe, just maybe, they were just doing their job?

What if they had simply asked him for his DL? When you get a DL don't you agree to traffic checks?

Now don't get me wrong, I think asking for proof of citizenship, when the person has not done anything illegal, is wrong. I admire this man for standing up for his rights. But "police state thugs" is, IMO, way over the top here.

According to the blurb that goes with the video, the guy was westbound on I-8, a highway that runs east/west in far southern California.

Of course they were "just doing their jobs". You miss the big picture. "Doing their jobs" means installing an authoritarian police state in America.

If your job is evil, "just doing your job" is no excuse. This fact was established at the Nurmenburg Trials.

> "When you get a DL don't you agree to traffic checks?"

No, you do not. The U.S. Bill of Rights supersedes laws made by the fifty States.

Creeping government control is the method by which evil enslaves people. It must be resisted at every occurrence, even the smallest.

Up close that evil merely looks like good ole' boys "just doing their jobs". If you dig in and study the big picture for a few years, you will discover it's based upon a philosophy that humans are merely livestock animals to be harvested for sustenance by a small group of people who are smarter and richer than the rest of us; ...thus entitled to harvest us. Go read their policy documents from a hundred years ago. The plan is clearly laid out.

Wilson? That must be the first time he's been compared to Adolf and Comrade Stalin. And how on earth can you manage to classify Hitler under Fabian Socialism? Or is it just that the word "Socialism" sets off a reaction like those dogs that belonged to that professor that time? let alone what it might have to do with this actual topic.

Have you ever read the constitution or learned the basics of American law? Do you know the concept of probable cause without which it is illegal to detain anyone?

Forgot to add : NO I DIDN'T WANT TOUGHER BORDERS. If there wasn't any greedy b******* to hire illegal aliens (not the green or grey kind with big eyes). they wouldn't come to US... furthermore, continue in such a fashion you will end only with cops, yespeople and sheeple

So I scanned through the pastors vids.. and this isn't the only one he has made. There's a whole handful of vids of him standing up to the checkpoints. Good for him for making a stand :)

Did I miss the Amendment in the Bill of Rights that guarantees the right to drive? Which number is it?

I do know that when I signed my DL I was told that my signature signified my consent to DUI checkpoints, among other things.

They politely asked the man if he was a citizen. They did not try to force him to pull over. They asked him to several times. He refused. They let him go.

Holy cow, you were right! I checked. The Supreme Court recently ruled the 4th Amendment no longer applies.

I apologize. I was going by how things were thirty years ago.

This is what I get for not following The News. I'm unaware when government makes the cage smaller.

You don't mind because you are accustomed to being treated like livestock and ordered around by low-level authorities. It seems normal and proper to you, but I grew up with a lot more freedom. I'm spoiled because of that.

The Court ruled quite some time ago that the 4th does not mean what it says.

Then, just to be sure, the Congress assisted in the nullification of the 4th by passing the Unpatriot Act.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

No one asked to search nor tried to seize anything. They asked him a question. Period. He refused to answer and they let him go. To me "thugs" would have detained him and probably beat him. I guess I'm a thug, at least to you. I ask questions all the time. Thug4Life!!!

PS You don't know a damned thing about me so your opinion about how I grew up is less than worthless, but I would appreciate it if you wouldn't make idiotic assumptions about me in the future. Thanks

The 8 pretty much parallels the Cali-Mexico border, and at some points it is only a couple hundred yards from it. This seems like a pretty good spot to check individual’s “papers”, drivers license or if they are carrying any illegal fruits/vegetables.

I don’t think he is ballsy. I liken him more to your idiot friend jawing at the cops when you get pulled over. He is the short dude with a chip on his shoulder picking a fight with the big guy….it’s a no-win for the big guy.

I can promise you that if he tried this in Israel or Egypt, and I'm sure a lot of other countries, things would have been quite different. Then the appellation of "police state thugs" might actually apply.

That is what makes the video remarkable. The armed thugs did not detain and beat him when he questioned their authority.

Wow. No wonder the United States has more people in prison than any other country. Americans like you love Big Daddy government.

Don't worry. Your dream of a total police state will be realized soon.

By this reasoning, it's okay to beat your wife because your neighbor beats his wife more than you.

Brilliant.
