Woman's missing digits grow back in phantom

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

A woman born missing a finger and a thumb has grown them back – albeit as part of a phantom limb. This extraordinary occurrence shows that our brain contains a fully functional map of our body image, regardless of what our limbs actually look like.

The woman, RN, was born with just three fingers on her right hand. Aged 18, RN had the hand amputated after a car accident. She later began to feel that her missing limb was still present, and developed a "phantom" hand.

"But here's the interesting thing," says Paul McGeoch at the University of California, San Diego. "Her phantom hand didn't have three digits, it had five."

In acupuncture, you can do mirror treatments . Sometimes, people who have lost a limb, have actual "pain",where the missing limb should be.

It's quite a startling condition . Since you cannot treat the missing limb, you do it on the opposite side, still available .

They actually get relief .

I seem to remember a series of photographs way back in the late 70's early 80's (ish) where they took a leaf and cut a part off then photographed the leaf under special settings and the leaf showed as whole... Kirlian photography (sp?)...

Not sure if this has been debunked or if it was a true result...

They say plants feel pain . If say you rip a branch off a tree,it can recognise you .

When a plants assailant comes close to it,they can see the plant emit waves of aggitation ,via kirilian photography.

There was a movie,years ago,called The Kirilian Witness .

It's about a plant that "witnesses" a murder . (of a human)
