rashore Posted August 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2012 I wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this or not... Ebay sells stuff that could fall into different threads. eBay has announced it will ban the sale of spells, hexes and magical items from its online auction site. Yes - it actually used to allow it. It seems that for years users have been taking to eBay to purchase love potions, artefacts with supposedly magical properties and spells for use in their daily lives. But according to a post on its official blog, it will now be cracking down from September on "advice, spells, curses, hexing, conjuring, magic, prayers, blessing services, magic potions, [and] healing sessions". http://www.huffingto..._n_1795469.html Personally, I think it's past time that some of this foolishness gets taken off the sales rack.

Popular Post Biff Wellington Posted August 17, 2012 Popular Post #4 Share Posted August 17, 2012 If people want to go outside & play Harry Potter then who is ebay to stop them? Personally I think that if your dumb enough to buy that crap then you deserve to loose a couple of bucks. & if they're cracking down on this, then why don't they bring the hammer down on haunted items as well. I saw a haunted watercooler on ebay once... & someone spent $350 on it. Really?! Who's haunting the watercooler? Must be Jim from accounting. He always wanted to be part of the conversation. Poor Jim.
libstaK Posted August 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Well the hexes and spells are still "out there" - just not for sale on E-bay - so the discussions will continue no doubt.

White Crane Feather Posted August 18, 2012 #10 Share Posted August 18, 2012 Darn it. I was going to sell my magic weather rock. Its really awesome. It tells the weather...... No really it does. You see you leave it out on your door step. If it's darker color it's cloudy, if its wet it's raining, if it's got ice on it it's freeking cold. It actually works.

Regency Posted August 19, 2012 #13 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Coincidentally, I was looking at halloween candles on Ebay last night and they had wax poppets for sale. Last time I saw a wax poppet was in the Witchcraft museum in Cornwall.

Junior Chubb Posted August 19, 2012 #16 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Great, eBay is putting effort into banning people to buy spells and potions, if they are stupid enough to buy them let them. The effort used here would be constructively used if added the the efforts of banning people who sell fake items, they are the real scourge of the 'Bay.

Order66 Posted August 19, 2012 #20 Share Posted August 19, 2012 "Items where the value is placed on an intangible factor. For example, listings that offer someone's "soul" or a container that claims to have someone's "soul" are not allowed." I bought someone's soul, only to find out it had already been sold to the devil. I really got burned (ba-dum-tiss)

I agree, as long as they cause no real harm, i.e poisonous, toxic etc... and are accompanied by appropriate buyer warnings, guarantees, no guarantees, warranties, no warranties, refunds, no refunds etc...

How many Sex Succubus/Djinn's does anyone need? Have a look at the pictures of these 'spirits'? And some guys are thinking "yeah, I'm gonna need three..... and some baby-oil" LOL, At first I wondered it it was some euphemism for 'off ebay services'?
