We dont get all those news channels on terrestial Televsion here or "council tele" as its known in Glasgow lol.

But if you have Digital you get about 500 channels from all over the world including all the Sky channels of course. Most people here have digital now anyway but on our terrestial we onnly get 5 channels , lol how crap is that lol?

I do actually no the Major Polish news channel which is state run and called TVP and tehyre are a couple of commercial stations called Polsat and TVN.

Just as i could name German , French and Dutch media outlets. The BBC regularly shows news taken from these countries and on the BBC website you can find out loads of stuff about other nations.

You questioned the reliability of CBS , i simply questioned the reliability of a new station which leans to the right, and a news station which many of the right wing minded memebrs of the forum frequently quote especially babs.

BTW babs as well what does me not living in the US have to do with nething, i get as wide a variety of coverage on current events in The UK as you do , i get all the same news channels as you do and i watch them all not just one.

Our countries are very very similar, thats why americans and britons get on so well, we have very very similar cultures.

OUr political system is has just been around for longer so our system is a little further on.

Hence the far more left wing mindset in all the older european countrys , just as your country is slowly but surely beginning to welcome more left wing policies all the time.

This means that I CAN comment on america because it isnt vastly different than being raised in the UK.

Lol! I understand what you mean. Canada has cable, digital and satellite though, which is cool. I used to have satellite, but moved and now am stuck on cable. Plus, the bad weather here doesnt help the cause for satellite.

Its the upper class that pays the Taxes and supports the country so why shouldn't they get a break! Further more the lower class contribute very little. Its the Democrats who want "give aways" to the poor that keep them poor. Anyone can earn a decent living in this country it only requires hard work. Tax cuts mean money in your pocket and its simple math the more you make the more you save on tax cut. The poor aren't made poorer they only don't receive as big a cut. Lastly its these upper class persons who are now saving will have funds to higher the poor, if they decide to work!

And about the upper income brackets, I guess you could say yes, depending on your perspective you could say no. To me, most of them are upper-middle class, but I don't know about talking about 'classes' of people, the black vote, the women vote, shouldn't we just be people?

Do you want teachers to be teachers because it pays well or because they have an inner drive to be teachers? In any profession I believe it takes more than money to be sucessful and motivated. Hey don't blame the actors or athletes for accepting the money blame the people who offer that kind of money. If my employer offered me millions to do a job that I currently get $55,000 for, you can bet I would not only take the money but I would take it with a smile on my face.

The reason Sports Stars and movie stars earn so much is because WE the public allow it! I totally agree with comment by twpdyp. the compareing of Movie Stars to teachers is Apples and Oranges is it lopsided yes but still I rather my childrens teachers be driven by a desire to help rather than a desire to make BIG bucks but I do agree Teachers are under paid
