oil eating bacteria causing global problems!

15 posts in this topic

Couldn't help , but get this out to inform those that do not know. Apparently when the Deep water horizon ended up leaking tons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, BP decided to use an oil eating bacteria to help eat up the oil, whether they were allowed to or not! Now this bacteria is doing more than eating oil. If you can remember correctly there was a barrel of smoldering something found :

So they decide to blow up this barrel and release toxins and bacteria into the air.

Now read this article by BP and their oil eating bacteria:http://www.naturalne...o_bacteria.html

http://www.theoilage...xico-t7017.html

How an oil eating bacteria could possibly change the face of the globe, physically and literally!

Good luck on your journeys!

Or could probably not.... naturally the bacteria, once they run out of oil, will try to eat something else, but to do that effectively it must undergo changes (something we call ---Satan be gone!-- evolution). That those changes end up in being a monster bacterium is most unlikely. Now, could well be that it could become unhealthy to skipper around in the gulf on a rubber boat....

Unrelated to the bacteria.....there's a commercial for Dawn detergent shown how eco friendly they are cleaning up baby ducks after the spill. Dawn...made by proctor and gamble....owned by....the same holding company that owns BP. Nice...

Sorry...carry on

Sometimes bacteria does mutate.

Lets hope it doesn't make its way down into the oil wells.

Few people missing the point here...

This is a synthetic lifeform. Which the OP didn't mention.

BP patented it, the sythetic lifeform is programmed by computer to eat things that are carbon based. (the oil)

BUT... humans are carbon based. And how can we even begin to understand how a synthetic lifeform could mutate. What they did was reckless and stupid.

If you look deeper into it ther eis porblems with shelfish in the area and people getting sores on their body who have bene in the water.

Where are you getting this information?

The bacteria digests hydrocarbons.

All known life is carbon based.

Where is this allegedly happening? I live quite near the Gulf of Mexico and have never heard any of this.

"And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood." If this bacteria somehow ends up encouraging red tide like what we saw in China a few weeks ago, I will **** bricks.

But isnt red tide an algea bloom? And isn't algea a form of life and since it is made of carbon would the bacteria not eat it and the OP claims? Also what is the bacteria made of? Carbon, would it not eat itself. AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaH! my brain! time paradox. CPU overheating shutdown immeniant....................................*blink*
