Did i say life?? I meant light .... I don't recall saying life...

Actually it made more sense the first one. You see the speed of life is an exponential speed, while the speed of light is pretty useless for inter steller travel. The conductivity of space does not allow for faster than light travel through space...... However if you could travel with space... You might be able to obtain Some sort of exponential speed. Expanding space acting like wind in a sail. If this would be possible.., it would take a detailed understanding of why space expands.. The casmeer effect, and dark energy.

The idea of Nibiru first came up in 1995. The person whom coined the idea said it would hit Earth in 2003. (Wrong!) More recently, some tied it with the 2012 apocalypse ideas. The name "Nibiru" is derived from the works of the late ancient astronaut writer Zecharia Sitchin and his interpretations of Babylonian and Sumerian mythology; however, he denied any connection between his work and various claims of a coming apocalypse.

Nibiru is supposedly in our solar system currently and if it was as close to Earth as people say, we should be able to see it with the naked eye. (All those pictures and YouTube videos claiming to be proof of Nibiru were hoaxed.) To add, Nibiru would affect the outer planets' orbits around the sun.

The idea of Nibiru is physically impossible. More information can be found here.

Dude, im sorry, but you are a joke. i remember me and you debating on this about a month or so ago and you still do not believe. what gives with you? how much proof do you need. i got to looking at your so called articles. BORING. come up with something that is worth reading and looking into. you have all this info that its not true but when i presented it to you, you still called it a hoax. it seems to me that you are still asleep to it and when you see it, you will be scared of it, as you are scared of it right now from happening AND being true. if you want to debate some more "Mr I bet 5 bucks its a hoax" then lets debate it. I will wait for your reply and lets get this ball rolling....if your not scared that is..

I saw some massive "thing" in the sky in a dream. I thought it was a 2nd humongous moon......

I had a dream like that too once, long ago. I interpreted it, though, to mean that the Earth had two moons and one of them broke out of its orbit and crashed into the Earth. Of course there is no evidence to support that concept so it was probably just another one of my junky dreams.

Ball lightening? Easy. Fill bucket with diluted bleach, toss almost any ball in and wait an hour or two.

...Oooohhhhh...THAT kind of "ball". Oh well, never mind then.

But, to answer your question, Nibiru will not collide with us. It will fly by us as it has for thousands of years. Nibiru is on an orbit and has been like this for thousands of years. It has always flown by us. That is what caused the flood with Noah and the Jewish people leaving Egypt when the Red Sea parted. Nibiru is real. The collision with us is not. Since you know about Nibiru, I will give you this website that will tell you everything about it. take care. Seems we have another one who has awakened to the truth.

Lies isn't the best way to convey "truth"

How are people still fooled by this Nibiru crap after the date arrived and passed without incident?

Well, in this case we're talking about the same kind of people who believe in a non-existant Biblical Flood as well as a group of non-existant Jews leaving Egypt on an Exodus. There's no evidence for any of it.

Kinay, I'll take your challenge.

Why not start by posting your VERY BEST evidence? The most convincing and irrefutable example you have. If you're not scared that is.. (note spelling..)

I'll be very happy to go through it, step by step, using very simple language, examples, even stuff that anybody can verify / try out for themselves..

And Kinay, if your very best evidence is shown beyond all reasonable doubt to be either incorrect or fraudulent, will you admit that you have been misled?

Please consider your answer VERY carefully..? :P

Something about Nibiru, star of Marduk

http://www.michaelsheiser.com/nibirupage.htm

Again, the Sumero-Akkadian cuneiform texts present a confusing portrait of Nibiru. How can something represent a "crossing" or "dividing" point and be a star, a god, and either Jupiter [Marduk] or Mercury or BOTH?Again, the Sumero-Akkadian cuneiform texts present a confusing portrait of Nibiru. But, I think, Nibiru can be the Polar star too. See Enuma Elish.

The joke is Nibiru. Sitchin invented Nibiru based on his bad translations of Sumerian text. In fact the Sumerians never refer to a planet called Nibiru.

If you want proof of it's non-existence then consider this: The gravity of Jupiter has a discernible effect on the entire solar system. If Nibiru existed, an object 5 times the mass of Jupiter, having the gravity of a dwarf star, it's existence would have registered long before now because of it's gravity. Further, if an object like that had passed through the inner solar system at any time in the past, no one would be posting here now as it would have disturbed the orbit of Earth and we either would have flown off into space or into the sun but in either case effectively wiping all life from this planet.

Will nibiru "A sun" collide into earth?

Short answer = No.

Long answer = Hell no..

But here are some interesting facts..

1) Nibiru (also transliterated Neberu, Nebiru) is a term in the Akkadian language, translating to "crossing" or "point of transition", especially of rivers.

2) This could also mean Bridge..

3) Nibiru could be the Bridge of Swords as explained by Kryon..

This is a good thing. But not one without resistence to change.

The saddest thing regarding this Niburu nonsense is the toll it's taking on people's mental health.

In the comments section at http://earthsky.org/space/planet-nibiru-is-not-real

"Lauren says:

September 19, 2012 at 8:04 pm

I’m a teenager and nibiru is very scary too me. I had to get on anxiety medicine because I would have panic attacks because of fear of nibiru. Ive thougt about suicide at times. I came here to read the article in hopes it would make me feel better. Then I read the comments and again I’m scared. ): I don’t know what to do."

I wish that the fraudsters on YouTube and Zetatalk would stop and consider that they're screwing with lives of fragile people.

The fear based agendas generally all come from the same source btw regardless of how and where it is distributed, and as always there is always layers to information. The people freaking themselves out by reading the fear based material and allowing themselves to feel the fear and drama are no better than the people who do the same with the media/ news outlets.

Very true. It's just the younger ones I worry about. The ones that haven't been taught critical thinking... yet.

From the 2012hoax.org site:

"I have a 7 year old that happened to see a documentary on the history channel that scared him so bad, that he became depressed and began to question the meaning of life. He is 7 years old. This nonsense is scaring our children - it must stop immediately."

"… am a teacher and my 3rd graders are hearing about this - A small child is talking about how if its ending, and why she shouldn't just end it now. This isn't anywhere close to funny any more." - from Astrogeek's blog.

Parents have at least been giving tools to shield (somewhat) their from children from pornography. Yet, I've never heard of a child that contemplated suicide after viewing pornography. Sometimes I wish that I believed there was a hell so that I could see that these scaremongers could be sent there.

A final thought, from the same site; "On September 24th, 2011, at 3:15 PM, the mother of a teenager named Isabel Taylor found Isabel hanging in her bedroom. Isabel had committed suicide in part over fear and anxiety over the reported doomsday rumors. This is the first well-documented case of suicide that we have seen over fears of the 2012 doomsday. We would really like to think that it will be the last."

Edited for spacing.

Here's an interesting video clip from physicist, Nassim Haramein.

Several years ago there was a huge comet with roughly the same orbital period of the mythical planet Nibiru.

Possibly the Sumerian texts were referring to the last visit of this comet and predicted it's return in recent years. Predictions obviously could be off considerably considering the very long orbital period.

It's an interesting hypothesis in any case.

Something tells me that these examples could be part of the fear mongering too. I mean we don't know for sure they aren't. Firstly, i would be asking questions over why a 7 year old is allowed free rein on the internet and secondly if they are, is reading about nibiru really the most dangerous/damaging thing they could on the internet that would drive them to suicide and mental breakdown ? When i think about it, I think not. The whole nibiru destructive thing is one angle of many, not everyone talks about it is as being an end of the world scenario either, but i have seen stories which proclaim the opposite. That their passing by will influence great shifts/changes for the better.

Synchronomy,

That is interesting, there is supposed to be a comet that comes by early next year 2013 which will be brighter in our skies than the moon.

As an aside, I'm curious as to even why the topic of Niburu/Planet X is even included in the Metaphysics & Psychic Phenomena forum.

Edit. It might not be my place to ask this question.

My point included teenagers, who are allowed free rein on the internet.

Edit. I forgot to add that the 7 year old in question saw the Niburu doomsday scenario on Cable TV, the 'History Channel', not the internet, and that child was entertaining negative life questions, like "why bother?"

I saw some massive "thing" in the sky in a dream. I thought it was a 2nd humongous moon. But someone next to me in the dream (a constant companion/mentor in my dreams) said it was Nibiru. It could have been symbolic, I guess. But I hadn't even heard the word in so long, and to be honest, never really knew what the term was about. Which is why I found it such an interesting dream.

edit: This dream was like a month ago I think.

I had a dream like that too - the sky was eeirly green, and it loomed like a moon, it looked like the moon too, full of craters etc but very close to Earth.

Assuming that, since you asked, you actually want to know, I will tell you.

The term Niburu (Neberu, Nebru) with the meaning of "a crossing place" came to be associated with a couple of planets because the Sumerians were observant of the sky and noted that planets, and the Sun and stars, migrated north and south over the period of a year. They didn't know that this was because of the Earth's axial tilt, but they observed the fact.

The "high point" (Northernmost) that these bodies reached, the point where they seem to "turn around" and head back south is related to the idea of a crossing place in that, once the planet reached that point, it's journey "crossed" into the opposite direction.

The planets were of particular importance to ancient astronomers. They had no real idea what they were, but they could easily see that they moved differently than the stars. They thought stars and planets were the same thing because they look like the same thing. The planets move around in other ways in the sky other than north-south, so they considered them quite special, even associating them with their gods. Babylonians eventually came to view Marduk as their only god (all the others had been different aspects of Marduk all along, they surmised.) Marduk was associated with Jupiter. The place where Jupiter stopped and began heading south was a nibiru to them.

99% of the uses of the term Nibiru in Mesopotamian writings involve the city of the same name - a city they believe was built by the god Enlil. That city still exists today. It later became known by the name Nippur, and today is called Nuffar. Nippur was located on the Euphrates river, no doubt at a crossing, hence it's early name.
