Rescue dog detects six-yr-old boy's seizures

Still Waters

For many of us the animals in our lives are faithful friends who make us laugh, keep us company and love us no matter what.

But one six-year-old boy counts on his pet dog to save his life.

Leo, who lives in Los Angeles with his mum Yasmine, suffers from multiple brain aneurysms and his dog Henry is not only his best friend but helps raise the alarm when he is about to have a seizure.

That is called an "Alert Dog." They can be used to "Alert" for many different kinds of health issues. My dog is a certified therapy dog and goes to nursing homes to give out love. She does help me by alerting when I am in danger of falling. I should really have her certified as an Alert dog then I could take her everywhere I go. The cat is actually better at it. She will touch my foot and run for the bedroom. That means I need to rest or I might fall.

When you see a service dog do not try to pet it or distract it. It is doing a job.
