Talk about a serious mistake. That was a very close call. He is lucky to be alive.

....but wtf the equipment looks like it was setup by kindergartners.

That thing should have been anchored with more than cables. How stupid. It should have been all steel, bolted to the rocks and frankly it should've been shaped like a tripod on the ends like a swing set. Cables for bracing on the edge of a cliff...how'd anyone there, set up crew, bystander or the daredevil think that was safe? Dumbassses

Jeeze, even an amatuer engineer can see that the set-up was ripe for disaster.

I could tell that from the very beginning.

Most stuntmen, daredevils and the like usually take calculated risks, so I don't feel they are taking a huge risk or doing something stupid, more of a scare factor thing. But like others have said, his rig is the most dodgy looking thing ever! What calculations were made here?

Awesome outcome though.

Engineer? Far less knowledgable people could spot this disaster. All they needed was some steel tubing which would've probably cost less than the cables they used.
