None of the above

So guys and gals!

If you were a movie star and the roles paid ooodles regardless.....

What would you YEARN to play?

The 'good' character, the Hero/heroine

The 'Bad' Character, the villain/villainess

The 'Anti Hero' (think 'Dirty Harry' or similar)

Or what?

And tell us why and how your choice differs from your perception of yourself in everyday life, your real 'alignment'!

I must have missed something.

No actor is considered accomplished until they can pull of either role.

I'd go for Villain roles. I don't get to use that side of me often, so it'd be a great pressure release.

I would feel very exposed if I revealed my thoughts about that here

It's a metaphorical psychological question!

I'm sensing some reluctance to show and tell here?

Come on people don't you yearn to explore your dark half?

Or be the knight in shining armour?

i would choose villain ( i have been working on my evil laugh) but the character might have a cat (im allergic and i dont really like the smell of them) and hero's are cool and usly win and stuff but they have a lot of hard choices to be made but you get the best of both worlds with anti hero's (give or take) so ill be a anti hero.

Anti hero because it's something I feel comfortable with.

I'd love to play the villain! I follow the rules in life, don't go against the law, except I have a bit of a lead foot...... :w00t:

I would like to play an explorer or discover something life changing etc, not so much heroic or evil. rather thought provoking, liberating or completely new and interesting.

I'd play a villian or anti-hero in a heart beat. Villian if it's a mad scientists or global domination or Anti-hero if it's a nice revenge story.

Thinking of a couple of famous examples I recal a story about Jackie Chan who I believe refused many supporting roles as 'the bad guy' alongside hollywood a-listers before he became a household name in the west.

I also remember an interview with Lee Van Cleef where he spoke about his 'face' typecasting him as the villain. He laughed and seemed reasonably happy with his career but I got the feeling that he would have liked to have been the 'hero' a bit more often. Strangely when you look back at his career he did play 'good guys' earlier in his career and his role as Col. Douglas Mortimer in 'For a few dollars more' is one of the seminal anti-hero roles although of course by the time he semi-reprised the role as 'Angel Eyes' (Sentenza) in the best western ever 'The Good The bad and the Ugly' he was 'The Bad'.

It's interesting to note from the replies so far, how many people would like to explore the dark side of human nature.

Especially the anti-hero types roles. They are a bit delicious aren't they?

Aye, I suppose we all have a dark side.

It all comes down to how our brains are wired.
