Syracuse, NY – A bank robber was quickly captured this morning when he returned to Alliance Bank after discovering the teller had not given him the full $20,000 he had demanded, Syracuse police said.

Arthur Bundrage, 28, of 306 Kinne St, East Syracuse, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. He is being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment in Syracuse City Court.

Here’s what police said happened:

About 9 a.m., Bundrage entered the Alliance Bank at 1001 James St., walked up to a teller and demanded $20,000 in cash.

He must be related to the moron that went into a bank many years ago - wrote out a 'stick up' letter then gave it to the teller...

The teller was a grammer school teacher on summer break and she took a red pencil, corrected his spelling - put an F on it and handed it back... The robber was so discouraged he turned and walked away only to get arrested at the door...

Is it that easy to rob a bank? Are the robbers getting lazy, or is security lacking?

A bank here was robbed over the weekend. They climbed through the trash chute while no one was around.

It probably really is realtively easy to actually rob a bank... The trick is to get away with it... There is some security in most banks... but realistically it is not there to prevent the robbery, but to make it possible to apprehend the culprits... And to limit the amount the crooks can take...

Security - like a locked door - really only serves to keep semi-honest people honest...

At first the teller told him no???? What was it the teller's money? What an idiot who has a death wish. I'd have said, "would you like it in 100 dollar bills?"
