It reminds me of that movie Foxes, with Jodie Foster. Her character reminisces about Annie her friend that died, " Annie wanted to be buried under a pear tree, "not in a box or anything, so that each year her friends could come by, have a pear and say, "Annie's tastin' good this year, huh?"

I'd like to be buried under a mango tree. :)

Since the skeleton came up IN the roots... i would guess that it was there before the tree was. (ever try to dig through roots?)

It needn't be a murder... the story said "centuries old skeleton" . Could be a lot of explanations .

Well thats what you get when you build on an old burial ground, good job the house didn`t get uprooted too, she could have found the rest of village folk.
