Bald cats are friendliest, moggies grumpiest

5 posts in this topic

If you want a friendly cat, get a bald one – researchers have ranked cat breeds from the most affectionate to the least, with the hairless sphynx coming out on top. But the common moggy is the most unfriendly.

By reputation, they are aloof and solitary creatures, which only display affection grudgingly and judiciously.

But this popular perception of cats turns out to be unfair: while many are surly, this is down to their breed — and others are far more genial.

I wouldn't like bying a living creature, so i'd not look at which cat has fur or not!

Let's face it, if you didn't have a coat, would you alienate someone who had a nice, warm fireside?

I beg to differ

!

I have owned three types of hairless cats .

Sphynx

Peterbald

Cornish rex (also Devon rex)

My peterbald was an utter biatch .Headstrong and spoiled .She took food right off my plate .

Sweet When she feels like it .I adored her .

Cornies, have fuzz, but it keeps them warmer than the average hairless.

I had two females,and a mix cornie/sphynx female

The cornies are utter sweethearts, the mix,was one of the most unfriendly cats ive ever had .I think she was abused ,but so was my elderly cornie.

My sphynx ,is an utter mush ,but we keep them warm .

I have beds with heaters, and I put out snugglesafe warmers for them all.

My sphynx is just an utter sweetheart . Wether he's warm ,or not.

Most of my guys are rescues, despite their pure breed status .I work with a hairless breed rescue group in the USA.

We help place them, all over the country.
