Drayno Posted December 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2012 I like writing rhythmic prose; it's a good form of meditation. I was reading some of Tolkien's poems last week and was inspired. Here's the short result: A dryness has left a taste of winter gently on my brow, The sun has departed early, we wait for summer now. The harvest can wait a little longer, if we can all get along, Forget existential blunders in the warmth of merry song. Every land, and every nook, every road, and fool, have the words laid in front of them, their minds being the tool. Should I freeze and be unwell; from ivory trees, to whistling bells, the toll of the road shall not change, lest you tripped and fell. O puzzled ones, retain your fire, for life should be enough. With resolve like fierce desire, your wings might be unstuck. If you shall fall, and I hope you don't, but if you do, believe, and the wind shall give you extra strength, as it does with folded leaves.
