I love the truce story. How the common soldiers defied their masters who were safe and away from the battle. A horrible war and RIP to ALL the combatants. I agree with Helen. Why wait for 11.11.Sad

Hi Helen of Annoy,

With all i show, i have confined it to numerology and saint days, so far, now i need to get more complicated in showing alignments to Sirius and Alnilam, you need to know this from an accurate astronomer.....so many events have been aligned to Sirius or Alnilam at location by 3 methods, sunset, midnight or sunrise, small print at top of this link tells of 11:11.

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/US_-_Germany_Peace_Treaty

It will also show date that U.S. declared war on Germany as 6th April 1917, in Washington D.C., confirmation of this can be found below:-

http://www.firstworldwar.com/source/usofficialawardeclaration.htm

Picture below on link, Sun rises at 16:04 Aries, circle with dot, Sirius as Sun rises is aligned to Nadir on 6th April 1917 in Washington D.C. spooky esoteric alignments!!!!!!!

Hi Helen,

lets say you might live within a degree of longitude of Rijeka, your country is small now, to live one degree either side of Rijeka by longitude, isn't giving your location away, by intent, Croatia by separation from Yugoslavia is now very small, link below:-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatia

Please note from scrolling down link below to "History" involving Rijeka it means dedicated to Saint Vitus, by "Rika Svetoga Vida":-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rijeka

You say yourself that you live in Croatia, to live within a degree of longitude of your land and Rijeka means it will cover most of it, however being small doesn't mean we can't learn from you, it's a bit like England, very small, but language goes all over the world due to something i'm very insecure about involving my country, being EMPIRE, it is the same for you, and your country, but common people suffered because of Empire in your country so much, although this has nothing to do with England, however just because your country is small, it doesn't mean we shouldn't listen to your history, myths and legends....you have no idea how important they are to us yet with Gregorian Calendar Dates....

Hi Helen,

To separate from Serbia that has many secret societies and hot heads, is probably best for your country and democracy, hell Serbia has hurt common people in this area, too many conflicting secret societies....in the end it gets sick!

What happened in W.W.1, in this area is still happening regarding Serbia, Prime Minister Djindjic or Dindic was assassinated on 12th March 2003 in Belgrade, dark pictures that triggered W,W.1., are brought forward into 21st Century!

I show this by midnight day marker at location, Sirius is setting at location in West, it is the mark of the esoteric political assassin, graph below:-

Djindjic assassination was a disaster for Serbia, in my opinion, and the official story is that it was organized crime that had him murdered.

I was wondering if it was “only” smugglers and dealers behind this, or organized crime of even more sinister nature.

So Helen,

We get close to what i'm saying about Prime Meridian at Greenwich, it is the only location that we see local time in England as against TIME ZONES, but ancient local time can be experienced at other locations regarding our Gregorian Calendar, it will reproduce itself at other points regarding Longitude, to show ancient way againt Time Zones across the World.

I must let this get to your grey matter, so firstly how does the PRIME MERIDIAN WORK, in London, Greenwich, don't be confused by link, you have to be in the right location in your Time Zone to experience link below, they don't explain it fully:-

http://earthsky.org/tonight/star-sirius-torchbearer-of-the-new-year

Look at what happened in Bristol UK before Time Zones:-

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/bristol-time.htm

By longitude the same will happen every 15 degrees, so Helen by how the ancients valued time, you are near Rijeka within a degree of every 15 degrees of the Prime Meridian, that how the Prime Meridian works, you will see the same as me in London, but you are not an astronomer!

Can i help you in your location? Yes i can, you must look for Belt of Orion, it will point to Sirius, if you have a none cloudy night at midnight at your location, GMT explained below:-

http://www.portcities.org.uk/london/server/show/ConNarrative.132/chapterId/2708/Greenwich-and-the-story-of-time.html

I'm laughing, obviously you feel pressure, i'm not going to pressure you to note alignment being a none astronomer, but if you want to help without pressure you can, whatever you see as independant none astronomer, obviously it is all confusing, but you are in right location, lets show Belt of Orion:-

Third image down, in Northern Hemisphere, Belt of Orion will point down to Sirius, you will see Constellation of Orion if you get no clouds at midnight on 1st January 2013, don't worry about it, if you see it you can reply, if you don't i'm not holding my breath ha ha!:-

http://www.brighthub.com/science/space/articles/125944.aspx

So if you have time in Northern Hemisphere without interrupting your New Year Celebrations, get a compass to show alignment to South, then look upwards from that point, it will show Sirius at its highest point it gets to your location...don't have a baby worrying about all i say, in fact i'm going to put most pressure on anyone from Sydney, Australia, here it won't interrupt celebrations, because it will happen at 1am because you have Summer Time in that region, pretty recent adding due to first world war, i'll explain how this works in Australia tomorrow ha ha!

Oh, I can find Orion and Sirius in the sky, it’s so very characteristic even a complete noob can’t miss it.

I was looking at Orion last night, but just looking at it, for some reason my brain wasn’t thinking of anything at that time.

I will definitely try to remember to take a conscious look at celestial show on New Year’s. Weather forecast sounds good.

Hi Helen,

It wasn't my intention to offend if i did, but to put no pressure on you, sadly yesterday i picked up a bug so felt groggy, so is why i didn't post, now time is short.

I must say sorry to Still Waters that this thread has got slightly off topic.

It is great Helen that you know what i'm talking about, now you only need a compass at midnight, look to South along horizon at midnight, then start drawing an imaginery straight line upward from that point, at some point it will cut through Sirius, this is intentional by how our calendar works.

Now in Sydney, Australia, the belt of Orion will be upside down, thus as you Helen follow the slant of the 3 stars of Belt of Orion downwards to find Sirius, people in Sydney, Australia must follow the slant of the 3 stars upward to see Sirius. Obviously Australians use Summer Time now, so they will see this at 1pm on 1st January 2013.

Australians need a compass also, but must start drawing an imaginery line up from North, this switches if you live in Southern Hemisphere.

The Prime meridian will work if your location is every 15 degrees of LONGITUDE from 00*W00' be it east or west given a degree either way, so 15 degrees, 30 degrees, 45 degrees etc etc.

In America it will work in New York or Malibu, California area as well as other locations by Longitude.

For Southern Hemisphere this will work at 1pm on 1st January, but not all areas in South America use Summer Time, so make sure you know if your area uses it, if not watch twice at midnight and 1pm if you are not sure.

The reason that Sirius marks New Year is all about calendar construction that is intentional, link below:-

http://www.unexplain...howtopic=236101

If anyone wants to know about locations in Southern Hemisphere where usaully but not always Summer Time is applied look for grey areas below:-

Hi Helen,

Top picture on link below is for you, look to horizon at midnight tonight at SOUTH using compass, then think of a straight line from that point upwards in the sky, you will find it nearly cuts through Sirius, as Rijeka, Serbia is 14*E24'33" Longitude, slightly out of every 15 Degrees.

Picture below, also bottom picture for Sydney Australia at 1am due to Summer Time:-

Hi, monk,

Don’t you worry, no offence whatsoever.

Especially since it’s a picture for Helen, mind you, now it’s guaranteed I’ll remember to check it out tonight.

It’s also funny how Croatia is just in 15 degrees section and Serbia out of it. Don’t get me wrong, just because I dislike politics doesn’t mean I dislike my neighbours. I wish them the same prosperity that I wish for myself, but it sounded for a moment like the situation on Earth is determined by stars.

Not by stars themselves, but by people who obviously take great care of celestial situation.

Hi Helen,

I hope you get my humour, i know my humour is nutty English, and people all over the world laugh at different things, perhaps we should follow the philosophy of Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio, ha ha!

Lyrics below:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1phzYE8nWDQ

I don't want to spoil New Year for any, Perhaps Pope Gregory XIII was wishing on a star when he created the Gregorian Calendar, it is what i would like to show over our celebrations, however you may want to walk like an Egyptian at midnight ha ha!

Hi, monk,

Life would be unbearable without humour. Light is fine, but the more morbid, the better, if you ask me, since this existence tends to look morbid from common perspective.

Anyway, weather was perfect, and I actually remembered to take conscious look at the sky at midnight. Fireworks were in the distance, didn’t affect the view at all.

It was just like in your picture... well, of course it was, I meant to say I’m astronomy-challenged so I wasn’t sure if I’m going to mix something up. I didn’t. Orion is so characteristic, no matter how much it “moves” you can always recognize it.

Only I didn’t make a wish, it would be too creepy after Pinocchio has popped up on me in other threads too

I need not to say sorry to you but Still Waters, that i have already posted, go open a hotel called Watergate Hotel, open to non-residents....oops humour....open to non- presidents Ha ha!

I disagree with the truce.

This was a war, not a happy get together. The two sides should have been striving to obtain their objectives rather than putting down their weapons and playing football. It's no wonder than leaders on both sides were unhappy with the truce.

In a post-1914 sense, you are quite correct, but in December 1914,despite the Battle of the Marne (where 6000 French troops arrived by taxi!) and various other punch-ups,(Ypres and Aisne) the vast majority of front-line troops on both sides were relatively green recruits after the first battle of Ypres (where the professional Old Contemptibles where effectively annihilated) and still clung to the 'Boy's Own' idea of warfare. 'Pals' Battalions were an example of this naivety which was later dispelled by mustard gas and the second battle of Ypres! The whole outlook among the Rank-and-File was different in those first days of the war.

But as I said before, this incident was almost a one-off, (only one other example being reported) and greatly exaggerated by the Press and subsequent folklore. Nice warm Christmas story for the loved ones 'keeping the home fires burning' though.
