Wearer of Hats the confiscation of Australian guns and the pittance you were given followed by the immediate taxation on I dont know what it was health care I believe. Is 100% Tyrrany. You didnt even get to keep the money for turning in your guns. Here in America there offering 50$ food vouchers to turn in guns. What a joke.

People keep crying that everything is tyranny. How ridiculous.

You have to understand that for what it is: a buzzword like liberal, or socialist or....

It really means nothing because those mostly using it are willing to exchange the consensus creating form of self rule for the dictate of the few.

Y'all know that phrase 'you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time'? I'd like to propose a new saying, 'some of the problems are problems to some of the people, but all of the problems aren't problems to all of the people'.

As in, for some people the idea of a 'paranoid person' owning a gun is dangerous. Hear this, I'm paranoid, I'll admit it. Not of the government, but of some bloody crook breaking into my home and stealing or worse. Some other people? This problem doesn't bother them, the police can handle it or it won't happen to them, etc and so forth.

The things is Hasina, most people how are in favour of weapon regulation (not ban) will agree with you about your concern of house segurity. Heck, over the years i have know a lot of USA people how are pro-regulation and have firearms. What this people find reasonable is to have a revolver or a semi-auto handgun for house segurity or rifles/shotguns for hunting/sport, not a fricking military armory enough to equip a smal militia with semi-auto and fully-auto rifles and heavier stuff.

Good point Mekorig. That gives me a question: what use, other then protection against the 'tyranny of the government', do semi and fully auto rifles have in the civilian life? Same with high capacity magazines.

What concern is it of yours if I want to own enough fire power for a small militia? What concern is it of the Governments? If I am breaking the law otherwise, it might be. But just the mere fact that one possesses a large amount of fire power and ammunition does not make them a criminal....and that is exactly what the Government Plan is...to make that criminal. The Constitution doesn't limit the amount of arms one can have...only that the right to possess them shall not be infringed. The Government is now trying to INFRINGE....that is the whole problem...it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL....and if you want to change the Constitution, there is a way to do that constitutionally...if you want to scrap the Constitution...Welcome To the New Age for real!

The lady in Georgia, that saved herself and her two children, shot the guy five times and he still wasn't dead. Most home invasions are done by two to three people and if he had had anyone with him, that was as determined to hurt them as he was, she wouldn't have had a prayer.

The high capacity magazines that go with the rifles, I should've specified... -embarrassed-

Unless she did the sensible thing: practice every now and then. She would hardly have needed 5 slugs per goon.

Yeah, I don't get that either. How many is considered too many...two...five...ten? You only have two hands and you can't carry the whole arsenal with you to use on a whim. Unless you are planning on holing up in your house and having a shootout with police what good or bad would more than that do?

And don't we have to *gasp* register our guns?! So it's not like the government doesn't already know who to target.

I see both a sides kind of and neither's fully right or wrong.

As I've stated before, criminals will always break laws, law abiding citizens won't.

This only supports less gun control. I imagine the gun wasnt locked up. But certainly dont have the facts on that detail.

As good as I am and as much as I practice, confronting two or three men that had just broken into my house would be a high stress scenario that would unnerve the average person.

I thought it was interesting that the guy says...(about carrying one in your belt and one in your ankle holster) If you get disarmed...they never think you have a second weapon...everytime I've had to pull out my ankle gun, they were always shocked....

...or something similiar to that...so...why would this guy have to pull out his ankle gun so often? Curious minds want to know.

I found this an apt description of the differences between "gun culture" and the rest of us.

You say it as if they are fringe kooks. 47% is not a subculture, that's almost half the country, probably than more if you count all those who don't report.
