Here's a very informative video.

It avoids bias and deals with hard cold statistics.

It offers good insight over the dispute between Piers Morgan and Alex Jones.

Someone has to show this to Piers! Not that he would admit to being wrong...

I'm begining to thing Alex had it right when he called Piers a NWO shrill.

When we're honest enough to acknowledge total crime statistics, we have to conclude that either Piers Morgan is too dishonest or too scared to do the same, or Piers Morgan wants more crime and less guns.

I think that is a fair assessment of the facts, if only Alex had presented those same facts (which he could have) in that same calm and rational manner, we'd be having a very different discussion today. I listen to Alex on occasion, I think at times he has some interesting information but his presentation just obliterates any chance of anyone taking him seriously. He loses people, loses all credibility because he cannot it seems present himself in a calm and rational manner. I'm thinking after this incident he'll be branded a "disinformation" specialist by his own people for blundering what could have been a fabulous chance to get his message across. He does this all the time and he pardon the pun shoots himself in the foot. Banning guns isn't going to make the human race less violent, we have always been violent to one extent or another. Our choice of weaponry has gotten more sophisticated but we haven't learned much about controlling our instinct to kill.

At first I was glad someone looked into the actual stats and wanted to present a balances view. Then, I got to the end of the video and saw that they also seem to have am agenda. Why is it that they compare the US to the entire world in order to show them as 28th on the list of firearms related deaths, but then reduce the scope to the EU when talking about the UKs crime rate? If you're going to compare the US to the world, why not compare the UK to the world as well? Or, if you're going to compare the UK to the wealthy western countries, we should also compare the US to those, no?

I challenge that comment.....'Our instinct to kill'...... How it is true, that to kill is instinct driven?

As for stats....I have said this since I was a tot...stats can be manipulated every which way depending on the desired result.

Yeah, I agree. It could have been a good opportunity to outsmart Piers in a calm manner, giving more credibility to his facts.

@Stellar: That's a fair point. It's hard to find any news without an agenda, so I take this video with a grain of salt for the very same reason.

It seems to me as the man in the video pointed out, some people want the United States to be more like Britain...

While I agree it can be wise to borrow ideas from other countries, we have a different government and legal system than Britain.

While in some areas we're similar, and in morality we're similar, we have to find a way to translate other ideas into our own laws.

Britain does have a high crime rate, as the video pointed out. In scope of gun violence it's minimal compared to the US. This is true.

But that only makes sense since there's a gun ban.

But with the US having the highest gun ownership rate, it is still outmatched in the amount of gun violence by 24 other countries.

This to me gives the basic idea that a country can still have responsible gun owners; out of 100,000 gun owners, a small percentage commit crimes with guns.

It shows that despite horrific things happening in our country, majority of people are still sane and law-abiding citizens with mostly neutral to good intentions.

Which means we should find a practical solution, but we have to remember that government shouldn't provide us safety.

It should protect our rights and respect our freedom to defend ourselves, and by defending our rights, allow us to defend ourselves.

Once we are being babysat and they construe mental health as an issue, that is when it gets dangerous.

While mental health should definitely be addressed in this, when they begin to construe sane, legal gun owners as insane for owning guns... Calling their gun ownership dangerous, paranoid, and irrational, we will have departed onto a dangerous road to confiscation when the entire public opinion against gun owners is dangerously shifted by the liberal media.

Well that's how he makes his money. He's job is to completely over the top to make people completely terrified about the world around them and how he's the only one who can tell them the truth. He keeps the fear and paranoia at high levels to keep the money flowing. Hell when the school shooting happened he wasn't shocked or sad, he was thrilled that he had a chance to ramp up the fear and continue to spread his lies and crazy theories. Wouldn't really surprise me if the NRA was sending him a nice cheque due to his actions of late.

Except the NRA wouldn't ever send him a check..that was what my whole post was about. Instead of showing gun owners to be sane rational humans the opposite happened. The NRA in fact probably hates him with a passion for making gun owners look insane. If anything it now looks like he's working to get guns banned by his insane behavior alone. Are we to believe he really wants guns kept legal or is he playing nuts to get them banned? If he is for real in his beliefs he totally and completely blew it and only ended up hurting his side.

Based on his past claims I think Jones is honest in his beliefs, or at least sees a market to put forward that view. Though I'm sure he'd sercret be happy with any move to ban guns (which is never going to happen) since he could then jump up and down and scream about how right he was. It would be an amusing irony if the man who does nothing but push wild conspiracies was in fact involved in a conspiracy himself.

Wrong... Larry Pratt was just on Piers Morgan's program and said exactly what Alex Jones said the other night. He was calm and respectful but that didn't change the facts from Alex's facts. Listen, the facts are the facts. People who judge Alex by his delivery are watching too much reality TV. The reality of this issue is bigger than judging a person by his delivery over what was actually said.

True. Half of America has been diagnosed with have some sort of a mental problem(by a pill pushing GP) and these people will be stripped of their 2nd Amendment if the globalists get their way. What a way to disarm the public. Get them hooked on drugs or some kind of bogus therapy and then strip them of their rights. Makes perfect sense if the goal is to enslave the freest developed nation on earth ever.

Same. I'll still keep in contact with my physician, we're actually friends, even though I'm not taking anything, it's nice to catch up with her once in a while to see how things are going.

That interview, though 100% factual was over the top. And I love Alex Jones. I believe the reason he went that far was cause of how Piers had treated the last couple pro gun guests. He wasnt going to be bullied, or called names. He decided to be the agressor. What sucks is, even though his listeners knew what was going on, there were probably a couple hundred thousand liberals who might have heard Alex, till he went crazy.

Indeed. In Jones wants to present facts and have honest debate he can't spend the whole interview screaming conspiracy theories and then later bragging that he made people cry and that secret government agents were out to get him. If he ditched the crazy made he'd actually be taken seriously. Though given his track record that's not going to happen any time soon. So best to just ignore his rantings and focus on those who deal with stuff like facts and reality.

Yeah.. I was pretty infuriated when Piers said to Larry Pratt, "You're an incredibly stupid man, aren't you?"

While Larry Pratt was at least trying to offer potential solutions to no avail, being interrupted by Piers..

Jones' demeanor was over the top, but in a way, I'm sure his intentions were to mess with Piers.. And he did.

They're busy playing the sound bytes of Alex losing his temper on a loop. Because it's always easier to attack someone personally than win a debate on greater merit.

If we don't care about total violent crime and the worst man-made tragedies in human history, then bending over and disarming ourselves might be a great idea.

Oh, of course. You know the media. They're having a field day with Jones' rant.

But he did have a point when he referenced Democide.

I concede he would have done better if he wasn't so smug about all the facts he had.

Instead he should have been like, "Can you do me a favor and shut up for three minutes while lay down some points, without you rudely interrupting? If you interrupt, you'll have broken our agreement and shown you can't shut your trap patiently. You can comment after I'm done talking. You know, how actual discussions are done, not the CNN "I'm going to yell over your yelling" style of discussion."

That's what I would have done. I would have intellectually PWNed Piers, not be cannon fodder for the agenda-ridden media.
