Democracy - A strange, abstract and "funny-sounding" word for many countries in the middle-east.

Anyway, the word preposterous has always sounded.....well, a bit preposterous to me.

Tipsy - I've always thought this word sounded flamboyantly queer somehow.

Like: "Oooh, I'm a little bit tipsy here"...and then do a little hand-wave.

Mandjoogoordap.

Means 'meeting place of the heart' in Noongah (Aborigine language)

There's a road that comes of one of our freeways named Mandjoogoordap Road. You should see how wide the road sign is.

...Actually found a photo of it:

We have a road here in Oklahoma that runs alongside the largest lake in the state - the roads name is Lottawatta Road... I had a friend who is Cherokee tell me that it is an Indian word that means "Hey! My moccasins are wet!"...

Haha the natives seem to have a sense of humour. There's an old mining town in the Outback where homes are built underground to escape the heat, Tunneled out of the sandstone. The name of the town is Coober Pedy which means 'White mans hole'. lol
