Ealdwita Posted January 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Both my cats have admitted to using catnip in 'recreational' situations, but have denied ever inhaling! But you can always tell, can't you?........................

But you can always tell, can't you?........................ Yeah, those little junkies. Some seem to be in on the heavier stuff. Even grizzles, `occasionally´.

B Randomly Posted January 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2013 I can't take the handlebar moustache seriously, for some reason... I laughed out loud whenever I saw it. Is this real? Or is it just a "Catnip Madness" propaganda? I need to do some research, now. I give my cat catnip. It lays out, mostly always. She plays with it from time to time, but not in any sort of addictive way...
Professor T Posted January 27, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) It's real.. I have a catnip plant . It's up high and out of reach of the cats so they can't reach it.. They know where it is.. Funnily enough, one of my cats doesn't partake and has a "Meh not interested attitude to the plant" But the other Cat goes ape on it.. He chews it, rolls about in it.. It's amusing to watch.. I'm sure it's harmless... Well, I hope it is.. The cat sure likes it.. then again... It makes you wonder if we're not peddling drugs to our Pets for our own amusement.. Edited to add: Have never seen a cat have a bad trip on it. So I assume it's harmless.. Edited January 27, 2013 by Professor T
AsteroidX Posted January 27, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2013 Yeah my cat partakes occasionally. Do they have rehabs yet for chronic abusers or should we just warehouse them in the cattery.
acute Posted February 7, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 7, 2013 As a hedgehog, I will admit to being offered Cat Food spiked with catnip, but I always said No. (mainly because it turns me into a tumbleweed)
