Surfer rides 'highest ever' wave

9 posts in this topic

An American man has ridden what may be the highest wave ever caught by a surfer.

Garrett McNamara surfed the wave on Monday off the coast of Portugal, in the same spot where he surfed the current world-record wave of 78ft (24m) in November 2011.

Experts will now have to certify the new record.

My family is from Portugal, and when ever i'm over there and hanging out at the beach i see some monstrous waves. If you like surfing Portugal is a place to try at least once.

He's already surfed 40 ft. waves plus and up, but, this takes the cake! Not all will walk out after attempting such a ride, and only a handful have the guts to even try something like this.
