Californians are currently being disarmed!

131 posts in this topic

And when some child is killed during a drive by everyone complains about the gangsters having weapons and shooting up the public streets. So, when the cops try and take the guns away from the gangsters people complain about that as well? Something just doesn't add up here.

Personally, I have no problem with the concept of disarming criminals.

A lot of Americans don't want anything to change, they just want to nag about everything until infinity.

Conspiracy theories are simply too addicting and give ppl the idea they know more than the average joe, making them feel important...because they fail to make anything real out of themselves.

But then everyone sweeps these under the carpet ....

Sean Bell shooting

Patrick Dorismond

Johnny Gammage

Rodney King

Abner Louima

(I guess he doesnt count .They only sodomized him)

Ousmane Zongo

Jean Charles de Menezes

BART Police shooting of Oscar Grant

Mark Duggan

Shooting of Trayvon Martin

Amadou Diallou

And these are just the ones that made the news.

I,personally witnessed about 30 cops,shoot a school teacher,to death.

She was in an extenuating circumstance ,but one guy with a six shooter, and 30 cops with bullet proof vests on,do not ALL have to open fire on one guy, when a civilian was in the line of fire. Ask her family how they feel about cops and guns ,as they sued, and lost .

Oh and,my partner and I were also in the line of fire. There were bullet holes FROM THE COPS,in the ambulance.

If a bullet had hit our main oxygen tank ,we would have been blown up .

Yeah really

And,cops shoot civilians ,and one another ,ALL THE TIME .They just don't media blitz it like they do with everything else,to brainwash the public into being afraid of big bad black guys ,and guns ...oww ahhh .

Cops rape,kill,brutalize ,commit pedophilia .

Hey,one guy wanted to kill and eat girls . No one remembers these things. Half these guys shouldnt pass their psychological tests either ,and yet we willingly give them guns and a badge and an ego to go with them .

I have no doubt cops doing these disarmings are no better ,and probably use excessive force ,but it never makes the news, because they're protected for protecting the presidents Grande dream .

http://www.policemag.com/list/tag/friendly-fire.aspx

I'm not saying some of these people shouldn't be disarmed ,but that article says 20,000 felons need guns taken away .

That seems a bit ,exaggerated ....lol

Oh and,how ,as in HOW DO THEY KNOW ,a gun owner now has a psych history ,given its doctor patient privileged information ?

A doctor can still lose their license for giving that info out, even the police ,unless there's a sudden waiver of this law,and every psych patient is now a possible mass murderer.

Ask anyone on this forum ,if they have a diagnosis of being bi polar ,if its ok for their doctor to call the cops on them, and have their guns confiscated ,as I don't believe there are 1000s of newly diagnosed psych patients with guns, and the doctor knows they have a gun,and calls the cops .

I would love to know how they figured those out. And again ,the public swallows the bull**** whole .

Lol, you're going on and on about police officers not deserving guns after extensive training but you seem to be in favor for anybody else to just get one. Ridiculous.

But then everyone sweeps these under the carpet .

Jean Charles de Menezes

On this particular incident, I think we ought to remember the circumstances as to why he got shot.

Yes, it was a mistake, a bloody serious one. And it should have never happened. But please remember that on the previous day London had been attacked by a number of backpack bombs. Frankly, I was surprised there wasn't more shootings in the capital that week. There was nearly another one on the day de Menezies was killed in fact. The footage hasn't been shown again, but another foriegn visitor near the Houses of Parliament - who had little grasp of English - had got the attention of the firearms unit, and they challenged him. As was seen, he at first hadn't realised he was being challenged by police, but thankfully got the message when the unit aimed at him.

I don't think anyone here is advocating for abuse of power by the police. And, it stands to reason that if police are involved in a shooting that Internal Affairs needs to do it's job and determine if deadly force was indeed necessary. However, these two issues (abuse of police power and armed criminal gangs) are not somehow exclusive of one another...both are problems that need resolution.

Once again, I don't see the problem with police attempting to remove guns from the hands of criminals.

Well this should make some people very happy since they've been looking forward to rising up and marching on Washington. So the citizens of California have risen up in an armed rebellion right? Police have been wiped out as citizens retake the streets and all that.

Or maybe this is just police raids to get rid of illegal weapons and due to the current gun debate people are more willing to panic.

As always ,you never change.

I was a nyc paramedic for over 15 years ,ergo ,I worked with cops and firemen ,DAILY .

I was stalked by a cop ,who later became a sergeant . I was assaulted by a fireman on a call ,and he got a slap on the wrist ,and was later promoted to lieutenant.

My uncle is a retired NYPD sergeant ,who worked in fort apache, when it was fort apache .

An episode of NY illustrated followed him on patrol ,and it also won an Emmy award.

.

Half the girls I workee with dated or married cops. I know quite a lot about them ,on many levels.

I know good ones from bad ones.

What cops do you know,or worked with daily, for 15 years ?

Do tell.

I wqs not familiar with this case . Thank you for clarifying . That being said ,why did any of the cops have guns. I thought you didn't carry them in the UK ?

How have the cops found out these guns are illegal?

Did the felons/mentally ill register their weapons when they purchased them, seems an unfelon like and sane thing to do.

I'm surprised that no one is concerned that gang members aren't being disarmed, are they not the ones who kill more and cause the most misery?

Banning guns will solve nothing. If some fruit cake wants to kill a load of kids, a homemade bomb, knife, sword, chainsaw, crossbow, bare hands, chop sticks etc... will do fine, check out mass murders at schools in China.

Generally, they don't.

SCO 19 who were called in to assist, however, do.

As long as they are all criminals ,I have no issue ,but I am dubious as to their motives in some of this ,but we knew that .

And for anyone who doesn't believe me about the shooting I witnessed ..

http://www.nytimes.com/1993/01/30/nyregion/gunman-and-hostage-are-killed-after-manhattan-bank-robbery.html

This was before the term PTSD was even invented.

My partner and I were messed up for weeks. And this happened within weeks of the FIRST WTC bombing, which I also went on . So if anyone wants to discuss wether or not I make this stuff up ,knock yourself out .

I still cannot discuss this call without breaking down...

No one debriefed us . I will never forget any of it .

We put her into the MAST pants, which are no longer used . We took her shoes off to do it .

Someone picked them up and put them in the front of the ambulance ,on top of my personal bag .

I had no idea.

I will never forget seeing her shoes,on my bag .....after I came back out of the ER ,and they had pronounced her dead.

There are photos of us moving her body to the ambulance ,that made the centerfold of the Daily News the next day .

And here's another OPPS !

when in nyc, don't worry much about gangs, nypd is the worst one of them.

Well I wouldnt say that.....

Cops are trained to have a very different mentality now, than say back in the 60s ,70s and 80s.

I'm not saying cops during any time frame, were angels .

Look at the story of Serpico .Lots of cops were dirty ,which is much harder to do now ,but their mentality is very different.

I find cops today are less caring . It's not protect and serve ,its do the job,go home

They're also mayor bloombergs personal money making machine when it comes to nonsense tickets etc.

They make a fortune on bogus tickets.

Stop and frisk makes a ton of money in bail .

The police are now a revenue making corporation to a degree ..in nyc anyway ...I find it sad. If you talk to cops my uncle's age ,they do not think much of today's force .

Haha, sure Simbi, everything in the entire world is reducible to your limited time alive and your limited life experiences.

You officially know everything, and thanks for throwing around the credentials around again...this proving you are all knowledgable about every damn thing.

Your paranoia is astounding. and extremely gullible.

Are you living in America?

What do you have to say about your rights, liberties and freedoms slowly being taken away year by year?

What do you have to say about the increase in control and surveillance of authorities and further implementation of control over the place they have the least control over, your Internet?

Do you think this is all happening to the benefit of the average US citizen? You've got to be kidding yourself.

The information is freely available out there, go look and then tell me you're happy where things are heading.

As mentioned already by Tiggs, but I'll clarify. Our standard beat patrol officers are not armed, but each force does have specialist trained firearms personnel. Plus, any officer can get training to act as a form of reserve, especially those who've served in any branch of our military, to use a gun in extreme cases. This also applies to officers on diplomatic protection duuties, and such like. So seeing an armed rozzer on duty carrying a gun is rare, but not unusual over here.

OK,left field question .England has a lot of bombings in populated areas. The USA does not .

,,do you think you have more bombings because you don't have guns,or are explosives easier to aquire than fire arms ,or its just how this kind of unrest is expressed there ?
