Jodi Arias Trial

Jodi had a migraine headache and is complaining they are not feeding her right.

Hey, because she will try any excuse to get her way, right? I think she forgets sometimes that she is not manipulating men to do her bidding, but I guess she goes with what worked for her in the past. I wonder how many times she will try this type of excuse before the judge has her counsel advise her to reconsider. Of course, counsel may be advising her to do this. Not feeding her right? Whats she want, a top choice dinner from an expensive restaurant? I have had migraines most of my life and when I have one, eating was one of the last things I want to do.

Maybe someone is trying to poison her?

ok, it doesn't say that she is getting expensive organic foods, but she is californian and that's generally a given

I remember reading somewhere that her brother is selling her drawings on Ebay or something to buy her expensive organic foods. I'll go look for that link..

Too bad she might not die organically. Perhaps her last meal will be a gallon of ice cream or cheetos.

The current testimony, if nothing else, could easily take the death penalty off the table. That said, I'm guessing the prosecutor is going to be really rough on this witness. She's used alot of TA's emails and voice mails to demonstrate her commentary and what she has presented thus far as an evaluation of their relationship. I've felt all along these two were abusive with each other. And no, before I get slammed for saying it, in no context whatsoever does this warrant what happened to the poor man and is not at all what I want to convey here. Just sayin'.

I have had many migraines myself and you are right boos: the last thing I would think of is food, or wanting to eat anything. Just thinking of eating when I had a migraine made me want to barf.

I'm not sure what the facts are... what I did hear on tv was that a family member had complained about her diet and that they are getting her up at 1am to prepare for travel to courthouse everyday. That sounds like a stretch of the facts to me. More realistically, 3-4am...? They wrangle all the inmates going to court that day and have them ready to go, paperwork to account for, it's serious business moving prisoners.

But if she's getting up at 1am it's likely she chooses to be up earlier to prepare by way of primping & preening some. If she's willing to stand on her head to get her cheeks flushed for her booking photo, yea, getting up early to get ready is right up her alley. She's shown her vanity in some of the tapes. ..

Marlene Deitrich? Wasn't it Gloria Swanson in "Sunset Boulevard"?

I know that most states have capital punishment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment_in_the_United_States But, some states don't execute that many of the death row prisoners, especially women. Even though I think Arias is a heinous wench, I bet she doesn't get the death penalty and that's just the way it goes. But I really hope she gets life without parole. IMHO, she doesn't deserve anything less. I certainly hope they don't let her off like they did that other lying wench, Anthony.

I wonder if her diet was so complicated before she went to prison. Has she been getting the organic food the whole time she has been in prison? Or is it just another way to focus all the attention on HER? And a way to make it look like the court is abusing her, like she claims Travis and Martinez did. BooHooHoo, poor little heinous wench. <_<

Leftcoastgal, that is cool! GMTA ;-)

So no trial today, huh? Anyone have theories about why Not that it matters...I'm just curious. Will Alyce LaViolette take the stand again when the trial resumes?

Laviolette will take the stand on Tuesday, April 2, and the defense will continue with their presentation. Then, Martinez gets to cross-examine her. Then, the jury, if they have questions, get their time with her. Then, the defense gets to rehab/clarify Laviolette on the jury questions. Then, Martinez gets to address the answers to the jury questions. Then, Martinez gets to bring in his own experts to counter both Samuels and Laviolette. Then... (get the picture here?)

Arias is not going to walk. You can tell by the questions submitted by the jury that their only concern is over sentencing her to Death or not.

God I hope so. The Anthony case was such a mad mess.

This case sure is dragging on to long .Martinez started out good, but to accuse the defence experts whitness as lying like that doctor is not good. He should just point out how much Jodi lied, not attack the whitness as lying to, but say some thing to the affect to the whitness you not correct, not out right say you are lying to, like he repeated said to Jodi. Wonder how he going to do with Laviolette.

I certainly think it was wrong of Martinez to accuse Samuels of having a thing for Arias. There's no evidence of that and Martinez crossed a line. It was very disrespectful and I bet rather than scoring points with the jury, they thought less of him for that. Not enough to torpedo the State's case, but he looked bad.

The Casey Anthony acquittal was a travesty, but this trial is nothing like that. They had the body and right away. Cause of death was indisputable and shockingly brutal and violent. They have the killer dead to rights; she had admitted the crime, only making up a ludicrous story as to why and how it happened. I can't believe for a second the jury will buy a word of it. This is closer to Scott Peterson than Casey Anthony, in that the defendant's claim is so unbelievable. I can't see a jury acquitting Arias with so much stacked against her, and her only defense so laughable. I don't know about the death penalty though. I can't make a prediction.

I strongly disagree with you here, Aaronsmom. Samuel's role in this case was to evaluate, period. The evidence that HE stepped over the line was that he actually went online and purchased a book for Arias!

Those actions show that he had a personal interest which he should NOT have had!

I don't think the jury will pay that much mind. He gives books to lots of his clients. There was nothing else to show he had a personal interest in her.

Who has heard about the latest twist--defense asking for a mistrial allegedly because a juror's misconduct. Sources behind the scenes are saying the misconduct allegations are the juror has been talking to other jurors about the case, which is prohibited. The prosecution of course doesn't want a mistrial, so they argue the juror could be discharged and that would resolve all issues. The defense, though, says discharging the one juror isn't enough because the entire jury could be contaminated if this one juror has been talking to others. HLN reporters are saying the judge will likely remove the juror and continue with the trial. Gee, it better be! A mistrial after all this? Unthinkable.

I certainly don't know either of those things! (It depends on how credible one finds Samuels' testimony.)

Re: anything else, to me, the evaluation itself is evidence...how and when he arrived at his opinions/conclusions- are questionable to say the least and so suggests otherwise.

I do know two things: Arias wasn't Samuels' 'client', and therefore, I know Samuels should not have exhibited ANY personal interest as such! He was there to evaluate...meaning, he was to remain NEUTRAL. Indeed, digging into one's own pocket for a gift for a murder defendant he's hired to evaluate is NOT remaining an uninterested party!

I don't know how the jury will view (or did view) Samuels' testimony. Regardless, my opinion stands.

I think this is emphasized by Alyce LaViolette having provided reading materials to the prisoner as well. Prosecutor overstepped his purview when he stated in open court that Dr. had feelings for the prisoner. Bad form to say the least. If she doesn't get DP I guess JM will blame the men on the jury for those sour grapes.

Gee this case could go on for a long time, however to me the only proof that would mean anything is if Jodi killed travis with the gun or knife frist of which can`t seem to be decided in this case.
