when comparing british football ive always liked the expression, football is a gentlemans game played by brutes, rugby is a brutes game played by gentleman lol

If that is true, then why do Rugby players not come and play in the NFL and show is all just how tough they are?

why have americans not joined rugby, because they play american football :) works both ways. there not gunna play pro for another sport

Does that include the northereners who play Rugby League.

Where I live it's a massive hotbed when it comes to this code.

So by gentleman do you mean the ones educated at Eton?

Because some of these Rugby Leaguers are big bruisers with gruff northern accents.

I can assure you this scene is more real ale then Pimms.

Though I'm not disputing the fact they are gentlemen in the traditional sense.

They could have more manners than their Rugby Union counterparts.

Different cultures and because the NFL is a more profitable sport for the players.

As for the NFL being the "sissy version"...

Rugby is a tough sport; NFL is a violent sport. I think the lack of padding actually makes rugby safer then the NFL.
