Will the USA be dragged into another war?

Senators Press Resolution To Green-Light Israeli Attack On Iran

A joint resolution set to be introduced by Sens. Lindsey Graham (SC) and Robert Menendez (NJ), a Republican and Democrat, respectively, declares U.S. support for an Israeli military strike against Iran's nuclear program. The resolution, which expresses the sense of the Congress, will be supported by the thousands of delegates to the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee annual conference that will stream through the Capitol this weekend. With prominent liberal Democrats already signing on, AIPAC's lobbying heft will likely propel a bill that, in Congressional sentiment at least, commits the U.S. to active support of a potential Israeli attack that experts think could have consequences as grave as further destabilization in the region, adverse global economic consequences, and even a hardening of Iranian resolve to get a weapon....

As Americans we must ask ourselves is this really in the best interest of the USA?

Why we must resist Netanyahu and the hawks' reckless push for war on Iran

Now, just as diplomacy is yielding results, has never been a better time to ignore the lobbying of Israel's prime minister for war

The officially stated positions of leading figures in both the US and Israeli military and intelligence establishments, as well as of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), are that Iran is not presently developing a nuclear weapons program and has not made a decision to pursue one in the future. Yet, Netanyahu and other prominent hawks on the issue have continued to claim that such a program is both imminent and threatening enough to require immediate military action, and that negotiations over the issue are inherently pointless or counterproductive.

It's just a resolution to be presented to Congress.

Many, many, many resolutions are drafted and do not make it through the subcommittee's, much less the whole of Congress.

I guess we'll see on this one.

Imo The US will not attack Iran even if they make a bomb that works. If Israel does let them and stay out of it, they have nukes.

"Will the USA be dragged into another war?"

Isn't it normally the US government that start the war's ? (past few years/decades anyway)

Personally speaking, I would not be against a serious military strike against the concerned nuclear facilities within Iran.

Israel doesn't need US support for this. They are well capable of doing it on their own. And I think they should!

Just my opinion, though.

Those poor US politicians, getting dragged into another war again. Oh, the pity.

I found a childhood photo of Senator Lindsey Graham:

P.S. This topic is NOT anti-Semitic!

Seriously, why don't those people call us Communists, or tell us how "anti-Oriental" we are, or deliberately derail threads 10-pages long when we chide the war mongers for their foreign policy ideas against North Korea? Could it be there's less complaints? My anti-Communism bias has proven way too obvious, or at the very least, PC enough? My Japanese username hides my anti-Hyundai/Samsung bigotry? Perhaps we could market and advertise UM's internet expansion in rapidly growing and exciting new Asian communities, perhaps I could put something anti-Muslim in my profile signature, or better yet change my username to Matzah Balls.

In all seriousness seriously serious this time, this topic is deeply disturbing yet it's just as I said, we're on the deliberate road to war with Iran. Sanctions are an economic act of war that leads up to blood violence between governments. Hurry up, Israel! Ahmadinejad is only in power until August for cripes sake, and since he's such the problem, just letting the political process in Iran take place is much too difficult when our wonderful world of warfare is lying around "on the table" not being utilized.

P.S.S. Lindsey Graham's constituents were among those who infamously booed the Golden Rule in the Republican debates in South Carolina...these people are pure evil and among the worst Americans alive.

Ya NK is a shut in. I bet the new Kim is on twitter though hmmmm I also remeber the fake crying over Kims ills death at gun point. Would a conflict be due to a threat on US soil or humanitarian.

It doesn't matter who we believe they believe in, attacking a theocracy is attacking the pawn of a hidden power.

I don't think Obama will carry through his threats: he is withdrawing prematurely and dangerously from Afghanistan, which I think tells us his real attitude.

My hope is that he has assessed Iran as an evolving state that will de-theocratize itself sooner or later. The Mullahs already have lots of opposition there, and the argument that the Mosque should stay out of politics and stick to spiritual things is being heard a lot in Iran. My fear is that this is too optimistic and that soon Iran will have nuclear weapons and the ability to deliver them to Israel and Saudi Arabia. Just the threat, at that point, will be extremely disruptive.

Iran, like N. Korea, imo, are both false flag nations.... one benefits the East and the other the West.... Ive said it before and will say it again both nations serve a purpose to The New World Order.

I would appreciate some elaboration on what you are talking about, although I suspect I am going to want to disagree, I am not sure enough what you mean.

Ahmadinejad is not in power his god and Imams are.

Then God hasn't attacked anyone in hundreds of years. Looks a lot more like the Christian God of the New Testament than anything the God-Blessed USA puts out.
