Is the NFL ready for an openly gay star?

Ahem....

never mind.... There's no arguing with a zealot, nor is there pointing out facts...

so I guess I'll just be quiet on this one.

real quiet..

tenth amendment.

HA ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That amendment grants the states the power to do just as I said.

Prostitution and gambling are legal in some states, and not others. I can't think of an amendment that says prostitution is or isn't legal, and the same with gambling. So, in Nevada, it's a right to gamble, but it's not a right granted by the U.S. constitution.. Is that easier to follow?

Uh, well...thank you. :unsure2:

But, I would like for you to show me where I said anything about keeping it behind closed doors, if you would be so kind.

"I don't understand the need to "come out". If people don't make a big deal out of being gay, but don't hide it, it usually doesn't make a blip on the radar. Look at Lilly Tomlin, Anthony Perkins, Paul Lynn, Roddy McDowel and Agnes Moorehead. None of them made a big deal of it, everyone knew and it didn't matter at all."

This is what led me to that assumption.

Again, if you are not part of that group, I apologize.

Do you know the difference between laws and rights?

Yes, and rights are granted by laws.

You know what, I'm wrong.

I'm just going to answer the question to the title of the thread. Yes, I think the NFL is ready, but I don't think a lot of their 'macho' fans are.

I understand that and thank you.

It just seemed like you and I weren't on the same page. I'm glad we are now. :tu:

Some of the first nonsense came from your post. In the face of facts, you can still claim it's a choice.

Not once did I call someone who is removed from the debate a bigot or racist. Also, I didn't call anyone a racist. A bigot? I only call them like I see them, and someone who wants to deny someone the same rights as someone else based off of inherited traits is, by definition, a bigot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigot

My first post was about Political Correctness. I made no claim about anything remotely to do with "choice". I just don't give a s#%t is someone is gay or not. Just like I don't care what color they are. I like and respect the people in my life based on how they live their lives thank you.

The no offence part was for the statement that followed, as the original statement wasn't directed at you. That part shouldn't have been offensive to you.

The last line was meant to offend. That's a classic line for someone who is being prejudice, but justifies it because they know someone who is of the group they are being prejudice against. Hence my comment about my black nephew.

That's complete and utter nonsense which shows your lack of intelligence. You are making the same type of generalization as you are trying to be opposed to. Most times when someone says they have a gay or black friend, it is because they want to show that they have experience with the situation and obstacles they deal with. You are very rude for attacking someone for mentioning that. Someone who has not been exposed to a person they knew was gay may have a false idea of gay people. They might think they are all very nice, funny, fashion conscious people as they are portrayed on TV. Those who have been exposed know that they come in all types just like straight folks.

I dont know why a person cant just keep their sexual preferences to themselves.

I for one am sick and tired of the Gay agenda and it being thrown around like a societal norm.

believe it or not, not everyone finds homosexuality as a norm.

Any ball team that discriminates on any basis other than ability is gonna lose. Any player who discriminates against co-players is not on the team and the team need to remove him if they want to win. Winning is the point.

It's better to stand out in the crowd rather than be quiet, act weird and cause trouble. i thought America was land of the free?

Yes, and rights are granted by laws.

Rights are not granted by laws, they are taken away by laws. There isn't a law in Nevada legalizing gambling, there just isn't a law making it illegal therefore it is legal. Anything not against the law is legal.

We are, kinda. Used to be more free, not as much now. But that freedom means that one person is free to be/support gays, while another person is free not to like gays. What you are not free to do is discriminate in certain areas (like employment).

It is.

And it would be nice if i were free to open a webpage anywhere anymore that isnt talking about the Gay agenda.

Im not trying to stop them from being gay, i'm just simply commenting that i'm officially fed up with hearing about it all the time.

Honestly, i would be sick of hearing about anyones sex life day in and day out.

If this player wants to come out, then frewaking do it already and accept the consequences.

After all, anyone who doesnt accept it is already considered a bigot anyways.

Kinda like anyone who disagrees with an Obama policy ia automatically a racist.

My mom use to refuse to get a computer because she said the internet had all that porn on it. Of course her real reason was fear of the newness, since it is easy enough to avoid the porn. I think you are kinda like my mom. If the topic is about gays, there is no law says you have to read it. Therefore your protest makes me wonder what the real motive is.

He would without doubt get someone on the pitch winding him up if they knew, it’s part of the game just in the same way you get your players to wind up the volatile players in hope of getting them sent off, that’s just sport in general.

What I would hate to see is, if he comes out and then his life is one big daily news report or he goes from being a hidden gay to literally a self-imposed ambassador, pushing gay rights and life into our faces.

This happened with a friends son, he waited until he was 21 to tell his parents and how the hell they didn’t know anyway was beyond me, I had to act surprized when they told me.

Anyway he went from being a quiet effeminate young man, with shy, private life to posting his entire love life on every social network, it was embarrassing, all his pushing the gay pride marches along with photo’s. His status updates were “me and my (boyfriends name goes here) left the gay night club last night and went back to rock the headboard.

Now I don’t post me and my wife left the heterosexual pub or details of my love life.. it’s almost like he had to make a statement every time.

He and his boyfriend were beaten up in a rough part of the city while drinking one weekend, they were all over each other in a largely populated Asian area of bradford, and he seemed surprized that they were beaten up out-side in the early hours, of course he thought it was was just because he was gay. The reality is, anyone who isn’t Asian would have been beaten up in that corner of bradford in the early hours.. it’s a no go zone for whites?

I hope if this guy comes out he doesn’t live his life like a reality TV trash star.

Don't bring attention to yourself if you don't want to be a target like this guy will be. I don't get it, why does this person even need to announce their sexual preference? It sounds like the stereo typical non straight attention whore who wants everyone else to see how "fabulous" he is. Nobody wants to know, keep it to yourself!

Maybe he would just like to go out with his partner for dinner on occasions, or on holiday, to parties, sports events without all the tongue wagging or it hitting the sports headlines.

He may just want to be like any regular couple.. nothing wrong with that.
