The internet around the world has been slowed down in what security experts are describing as the biggest cyber-attack of its kind in history.

It is having an impact on popular services like Netflix - and experts worry it could escalate to affect banking and email systems.

Five national cyber-police-forces are investigating the attacks.

I guess the best advice Ive gotten besides the obvious securities you can take on your CPU's is turn them off when not in use.

Google took on a lot of the excess traffic or this might of shut Spamhaus down. Sounds like a bunch of people got mad because this company wouldn't let their spam get through to peoples inboxes.

I didn't notice any difference in my internet speed.

Was 'the biggest cyberattack in history' all just a PR stunt?

It has been called one of the biggest ever cyberattacks in history, one that nearly broke the internet. But did you even notice? If not, you're not alone …

Specialists contacted by the site reported that the attack, major as it was, had "a severe impact" on the websites it was directed at, but it certainly did not shake the internet to its core.

kneejerk and shameless PR marketing ploy to make ill informed PC users to make 'purchases' and booost the numbers for fat bonuses
