Your Heart Has the Monopoly

Is every moment a time for glory

or does one stumble across it

the way an astronaut may?

We know it's there but we cannot see it,

there in the dark,

in a massive swarming nothing,

in a place we dare not enter

even in uttmost surrender.

Across the planets,

in a criss cross of animalistic light,

lions and bears and arrows pointing

come to life,

roaring:

"I told you so."

and

"Don't be so dismissive."

If only

you could catch a comet ride

you could find

what no one else is seeking.

Oh to be alone

with the greatest gift preserved.

A time stamp with your number.

Who in the moon is making the howl?

Who marks the noon, the sun or the dial?

Who on the earth is wearing your smile?

Who indeed?

Very nice as usual, sweetness. I always look forward to listening to your poems and you never disappoint. :)

Simply and extraordinaly beautiful at the same time.

I really enjoy how you synthesize in so many of your pieces what to others are opposites: earth/space, our own limitations (limiting thoughts)/the cosmos, constellations/riding a comet, and fear to move forward/exploration.

You even offer a glimpse of what is made when two different elements are joined (sun dial = sun and dial; funny how the product takes the same name as the independent elements).

Non-ambiguity and non-contradiction are one sided and thus unsuited to express the incomprehensible. -Jung
