RIP Richard Brooker

We’re sad to report that actor Richard Brooker passed away earlier today, at the age of 59. The actor/stuntman is best known for playing Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part III, and was a frequent guest at horror conventions around the world where many fans had a chance to meet him.

There are no details on the cause of his death at this time, but the news was confirmed by his business manager, Eric Branden:

For deaths in the count of threes (famous people)? I don't know, we also lost Andy Johns too, so that's really 4.

I thought Richard Brooker was by far the best Jason ever.

He added alittle something extra to the character in his gaint and gestures.

And supposedly he was a super nice guy as well.

It must a 'Jason' thing because I've met Ari Lehman (Child Jason) and Derek Mears (2009 Jason) and they were both SUPER nice guys as well.

Sorry to hear this. My favorite Jason will always be Kane Hodder, but still sad to know one of the Jason's is gone. R.I.P.
