Look I don't understand why she has to word things the way she does? You know? I mean it just reeks of socialism. You want to say we should work together for the good of our children, as a community. Okay, then just say that. Short blunt, to the point, no misunderstandings.

Not to the Socialist. To them we are just parts of the collective, like the Borg. But what she doesn’t realize is that Americans are individuals in a community. Like I said before: “Kids grow up in a village; they are not raised by a village.”

It’s been the same fight that has been raging since our founding. But she is on the wrong side. If you understand Dark Energy (not the astronomy definition) then you know that DE as been trying to destroy this nation from the beginning. And Socialism has been the tool it has used in the last hundred years.

I've never heard of Dark Energy, as your referring to. But, I have to agree that we are all INDIVIDUALS who are part of a community.

The Dark Energy I am referring to is meta-physical or spiritual. You can think of it as pure evil but not necessarily in the sense of conventional Catholic thought. It’s more along the lines of Maximum Entropy with Innate Intelligence. It is just natural for the system to break down those things that are more highly developed but are also artificial in the system. This is probably getting beyond the scope of this thread but you could probably ask about DE in the religion forum and get many POVs.

It’s been a very long time since I read it, that I’m sure I get it confused with Bradbury, Roddenberry, and Lucas. But this Melissa would seem to fit in well in the programmed caste system of that world. The family unit just didn’t exist. And who could forget Soma! Soma! Soma!
