Still Waters Posted April 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2013 JACOBITE Cruises is in line for a six-figure pay out — but only if one of its boats is damaged by the Loch Ness Monster. The tourist cruise company has taken the unusual step of insuring its fleet in the event of a collision with Nessie. http://www.inverness...on-24042013.htm
freetoroam Posted April 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Well this should pull all the Nessie enthusiast in. Its a clever bit of advertising cos they know there are many out there who do believe Nessie is swimming about and if they think this boat could be the one which "knows something" hence the insurance, then they will be queuing up to get aboard. Michelle Posted April 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Only in Scotland...It would make more sense to have bear insurance in the US.

Commander CMG Posted April 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2013 Loch Ness monster insurance was purchased by a Scottish cruise company looking to protect its passengers from any and all circumstances. Jacobite Cruises' $1.5 million policy coincides with the 80th anniversary of the mythical beast's first sighting. The Loch Ness monster insurance was the idea of Jacobite Cruises owner Frieda Newton. The company, which operates out of Inverness, Scotland, owns only three vessels, but would receive a significant payout if any harm came to the boats because of the infamous sea creature. Newton herself calls the insurance a smart investment. "I don't know what the odds of this actually happening might be, but this is Loch Ness," she told The Scottish Sun. "How silly would we look if it did and we weren't covered for it?" View: Read more
