A microscopic one minute stop-motion animation has been made entirely out of individual atoms.

Researchers used a scanning tunnelling microscope to move thousands of carbon monoxide molecules to make an animated short film depicting a stick boy playing with his pet atom.

Do atoms come in different sizes? The material that the atoms are sitting on looks solid (and malleable). Are its atoms so small they can't be seen at that magnification?

Pretty cool, but how will this help the future of mankind?

I remember a story of a teenage boy who wrote his whole exam answers in a space the size of a stamp, he was still under the effects of LCD from the night before.

I forgot all the physics I learned in school. What are the waves or ripples surrounding each atom? Electron clouds?

Chubb, with this new technology, they might actually be able to animate your penis!

I didn't know it's possible to stop an atom from moving like that.

Duct Tape! I've always heard that enough duct tape will stop anything!
