Share one favorite line from a song at a time

Share a favorite line of yours from a song

  • One line = one line; not a huge paragaph of lyrics or the whole song
  • One line per post please; give others a turn to post theirs
  • One post at a time, take turns, please do not post double or triple posts; allow at least one person to post before you post again
  • Tell us where exactly in the song can we find the lyric, either the first time it is sung or your most favorite time it is sung
  • Tell us why this is a favorite lyric of yours; we want to know something about you and why you like it; this is the whole reason for this thread
  • All the above are suggestions but it would be really cool to not be post hogs and to learn something about you while we are at it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iNh6BVZgJ0

Lyric: Now it is 1984, knock, knock at your front door, it's the suede denim secret police, they have come for your uncool niece.

Where can it be found: 1:50 minute mark

Why I like it: We need more fashion police.

Twenty twenty twenty four hours to go, I wanna be sedated

Why? Cos it makes me want to jump around the room

From Al Stewart... "The Last Day Of June 1934" (This bit refers to Ernst Rohm and Hitler's Putsch (sp?))..

Oh echoed away like a roar in the distance

In moonlight carved out of steel

Singing "All the lonely, so long and so long

You don't know how I long, how I long

You can't hold me, I'm strong now I'm strong

Stronger than your law"

@ 1:13 cause if you want to save your life, you got to find it, and if you want to keep those dreams, there will be nightmares, and if your time runs out well hell, you should have spend what you had

this song is enourages me during the worst of times, makes me think positive, and is a religious song to me

When Liberty Valance rode to town the womenfolk would hide, they'd hide

When Liberty Valance walked around the men would step aside

'cause the point of a gun was the only law that Liberty understood

When it came to shootin' straight and fast---he was mighty good.
