"A Defense of Armageddon"

In the 19th century... 1857... a speech [sermon] was given to congressmen at the

US Capitol in DC. The name of that speech was "A Defense of Armageddon"...

and that is exactly what it was. The speech said the USA has a divine destiny

to turn the entire planet democratic... the speech advocated the USA use war

and revolution to destroy the monarchies of Europe. The speech especially

targeted the Russian monarchy.

60 years later, many European monarchies were destroyed by war [WW1] and revolution

[Feb/Oct democratic/bolshevik revolutions that destroyed the Russian monarchy.]

The speech further said that once the nations of the world were made democratic

via war and revolution, the USA would act as their big brother... THIS is exactly

the nation-destroying/nation-building foreign policy the USA follows to this day.

btw... the speech [sermon] is on the net if you want to read it.

Yea -- people back then sometimes thought like that. Fortunately not so many see things like that today.

The speech [sermon] says the USA is the "fifth kingdom"

[ie, the Kingdom of God on earth.]

Here are quotes - remember this was 1857.

"[uSA]... destined in its great mission to annihilate the last vestige of monarchy from the nations

of the earth... "

"... the mission of this great fifth nationality was the destruction of State and Church union,

as well as the utter and ultimate extermination of ecclesiastical and political despotism from

the face of the earth. "

" The truth is, the fifth great commonwealth that the God of heaven was to "set up" was so utterly

repugnant to monarchy, in all its forms and phases, that it should destroy it from the face of the earth. "

" That the destruction of monarchy will be effected by military power."

"As this conflict puts a final end to all earthly monarchy, and as all political governments are either autocratic or democratic, and as the fifth government is to "Become a great mountain and fill the whole world," the conclusion is forced upon us that one of the grand missions of the providential Republic of America is the final overthrow of monarchy and the extension of the principles of popular freedom over the whole world."

"At the very time of the overthrow of Monarchy in the field, a revolutionary "fire breaks out in the land of Magog" and in the isles of the sea: the friends of freedom at home in Russia and Great Britain strike for liberty, and the work is done."

I hope you're being ironic... this is EXACTLY the foreign policy the USA

has followed for at least a century... and is still following today...

toppling governments via war/revolution to usher in American-style democracy.

No I'm not being ironic. I'm trying to point out how foolish such talk was and remains.

The Bible says satan transforms himself into an angel of light to deceive.

You're being blinded by the religious/Biblical language/symbolism and not able

to see beyond that to the satanic evil that lurks beneath... this "preacher"

advocated the USA destroy CHRISTIAN monarchies to usher in American-style

SECULAR democracy!

Apparently you've missed the last decade... and the US-backed wars and revolutions

aimed at toppling governments and reshaping those nations into America's secular

democratic image.

The 1857 speech [sermon] especially targeted Russia's Christian monarchy...

and advocated Russia's monarchy be destroyed via war and revolution and it was.

Here are quotes specific to Christian Tsarist Russia.

" These two great powers are the United States of America and the monarchy of Russia,

both extending the magnitude of their greatness; so that, in the present state of affairs,

a perfect coincidence of facts answers a perfect description of prophecy. We look to the

future for the finale of these startling wonders, to be fulfilled in a conflict that will

enlist all nations, stir the world with commotion, and drench the earth with blood. "

"Russia, then according to the Scriptures, is the headship or leading power around which

the multitudinous armies of allied monarchy shall be gathered together."

"We must look to Russia, then, as the colossal giant of reconstructed monarchy, embodying

the whole of autocracy in the last grand organization...."

"The three dogmas are here pronounced to be the spirits or doctrines of devils. All doctrines are

the doctrines of devils that are opposed by Divine revelation; but Absolutism, Church Supremacy,

and Divine right of kings, are opposed by the word of God; consequently, the three doctrines of

the "Triple Alliance" are the doctrines of devils..."

"And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue "Armageddon." On that last

great battle-field, the doctrines of the Triple Alliance, with the hosts of their deluded defenders,

shall perish forever."

Most Americans are just as clueless... they think the world hates them

because of their "freedom"... HA !... the world hates them for attempting

to play God, for dictating, for fostering revolution, for wars of aggression

and for exporting their degenerate perverted "culture."

The 1857 speech says [pg 115] that the nations of the earth will be "under the counsel

and example of the United States", that the USA will be their "elder brother" who will

"instruct them in the principles of popular freedom."

Remember... this 1857 speech especially targeted the Russian Christian monarchy...

and advocated it be destroyed via war and revolution... 60 years later, Russia's

monarchy was destroyed by WW1 and the democratic and bolshevik revolutions.

Russian Orthodox Christians say that when God's Tsar was deposed [by the democrats]

and murdered [by the bolshevks] the One who had restrained global evil was removed

and the spirit of antichrist took over the planet.

In his WW1 war speech to US Congress [April 1917] US President Wilson praised the

democratic revolutionaries in Russia who had just deposed Russia's Tsar [Feb/March 1917.]

Wilson said the revolutionaries were America's "partners" - like the revolutionary "partners"

America has today around the world.

From Wilson's war speech came the famous phrase concerning the purpose of WW1:

"Make the world safe for democracy"

That is... to make the world safe for antichrist secular humanism.

Here are quotes from Wilson's April 1917 War Speech:

" Does not every American feel that assurance has been added to our hope for the future peace

of the world by the wonderful and heartening things that have been happening within the last

few weeks in Russia? "

" Russian people have been added in all their naive majesty and might to the forces that are

fighting for freedom in the world, for justice, and for peace. Here is a fit partner for a league of honour. "

" The world must be made safe for democracy. "

You actually seem to be saying - or at least implying - that the world would have been a better place today had Russia prevailed in that little struggle of the past few decades. If that is how you feel then I think you have an odd sense of right, wrong and proportionality.

Isn't that about the same time frame that President Monroe served and issued the Monroe Doctrine?

America didn't have anything to do with the Russian Revolution. This speech was given in 1857 and Revolution broke out in Russia in March of 1917. Of course, Revolutionary ideas had been going around since the 1880s, and Czar Nicholas II's grandfather, Alexander II was assassinated by revolutionaries in 1881. Ironically he was the most "liberal" of all the czars and even freed the serfs!

But, America didn't have anything to do with Russian Revolution. Revolution and overthrow of the monarchy was bound to happen sooner or later.

The term "Monroe Doctrine" was coined in 1853. But it was introduced in 1823.

As others have noted the ideas presented in the speech were par the course in the nineteenth century. And as Kowalski pointed out the US had nothing to do with the Russian Revolution. It was already happening before the US even got involved in the war. Hell the US joined with the Allies to try and support the White Army during the Russian Civil War. And as for the First World War, a war the US mostly sat out of, destroying European monarchies let's have a look at that.

Monarchies destroyed:

Russia, Germany, Ottomans, Austro-Hungary

Monarchies survived:

British, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Serbia/Montenegro/Yugoslavia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria

So it seems overall monarchies in Europe were still alive and kicking after the First World War with only Russia and the defeated Central Powers getting changes in government. And as for the US being the big brother of revolutions I guess that's why the US supported all the various revolutions that took place in Latin America during the Cold War...oh wait.

Bottom line is that this is just one speech of hundreds made during the nineteenth century about how a country needed to bring enlightment to the rest of the world. That is had any influence at all on the current American foreign policy is highly doubtful.

Years before the revolutions that toppled the Russian monarchy, President

Teddy Roosevelt kept pressuring Tsar Nicholas to allow the hordes of

Americanized, radicalized, revolutionary jews back into Russia... when

Tsar Nicholas refused... Roosevelt broke an economic treaty with Russia.

WHY did the USA put so much importance on revolutionary jews returning

to Russia? Because the USA supported war and revolution against the

Russian monarchy and used revolutionary Russian jews to accomplish it...

just like the USA is supporting the rebels in Syria today to destroy Assad.

So it seems overall monarchies in Europe were still alive and kicking after the First World War...

War and revolution were fostered to destroy Christian monarchy.

WW1 and the democratic/bolshevik revolutions were fostered

to do that... but the evil did not stop there.

Tsar Nicholas II was deposed and murdered, Kaiser Wilhelm II

was deposed and King George V changed his German name for fear

revolution might spread to Britain... but the evil did not stop there.

Those monarchies that were not destroyed physically were cowed

to accept the dictates of their new antichrist masters.

WW2 was a continuation of WW1... and the USA's use of war and

revolution to force American-style democracy on others... continues today.

AlasBabylon repeating something does not make it true. The US had very little influence in the Russian Revolution and in fact that Revolution went directly against American interests since it freed up several divisions of German troops right before the US was about to enter the war. It would have been far better for them if Russia had been able to stay in the fight. Germany had far more involvement than the US given they helped Lenin return to Russia.

Now as for war it does not destroy monarchies. The general weakening of the European monarchies started centuries before the First World War. Now revolutions do destroy monarchies...because they're revolutions. That's what they do. And the removal of a monarchy isn't always evil.

Yes the Tsar was murdered...because bolsheviks went full out on their revolution and wasn't willing to let him live. Not the first time a revolution has killed a king. Yes the Kaiser was desposed...because it was believed that the Prussian nobles had pushed for war and that with him gone Germany might be more peaceful. Yes King George ditched his German name...not out of any fear of revolutions but because he was fighting Germany and wanted to seem more patriotic. And anti-Christ masters? Yeah...no. Let's stick with actual facts shall we.

Now you are correct that the Second World War was round two of the First World War. But again America didn't have anything to do with it. Once again they stayed neutral for several years and might have stayed that way for even longer had Japan not attacked them. In fact following the end of the First World War the US wanted to go easy on Germany. It was Britain and France, not the US, who pushed for harsh peace terms which paved the way for Hitler's rise.

The simple fact, and this is supported by a wide range of historical evidence, is that the US isn't on some crazy mission to wipe out all monarchies. Most of their closest allies are monarchies in some fashion or another. Now you might not like their current foreign policy, which is just fine few do, but attempting revisionist history does nothing to support your views. A single speech given over a hundred years ago is not driving American foreign policy. America did not cause the Russian Revolution. America did not cause the World Wars. And America does not have a secret plot to overthrow any government that is not a carbon copy of their own.

Here are some interesting quotes from " Theodore Roosevelt and the Rise of America to World Power "

about the US government's anti-Russian position before the Russian-Japanese war.

The US wanted to expand into and exploit Asia but Tsarist Russia was in the way.

Russia's 1905 defeat to Japan was the beginning of the end of Tsarist Russia.

Russia, China and all Asia were pawns in a USA grab for power, influence and territory.

" Roosevelt and the British feared Russia. Manchuria was also the subject of lobbying by American commercial interests. “Our trade there is assuming enourmous proportions,” Hay wrote. Hay urged Roosevelt to encourage Japan to attack Russia. " [177-178]

" Russia backed down and promised to open all ports to all nations except Harbin and to withdraw its troops by October 8, 1903. “How much this anti-Russian, pro-Japanese policy of the Roosevelt Administration encouraged Japan to make war on Russia is unknown.” [180-181]"

" Roosevelt’s stated aims in Asia: keep Russia and Japan balanced in power. “Japan could have Korea but must guarantee protection of U.S. concessions there.” Japan would be kept out of China, the Russians could predominate in Manchuria if they followed an Open Door policy." [238]

" Japanese war aims were explained to Roosevelt before the battle of Mukden. They wanted to control Port Arthur and Korea, and have the rest of Manchuria taken from the Russians and put back in Chinese control." [247]

" Theodore Roosevelt and the Rise of America to World Power "
