The official nonofficial religeon of the USA.

57 posts in this topic

According to the constitutuon of the united states. The government cannot set up an official religion. But, through the courts such religion has been established. Anything that has to do with religeon that the public can see or walk by is being scrubbed from the usa. Say good bye to santa, the easter bunny, thanksgiving turkey, and hallowween. Note please those are all christian holidays. The oinly religion that is being attacked more than christian world wide are the jews.

This cleansing of religion in the united states has to end.

Atheism is the official nonofficial religion in the united states. I mean that due to a single person, under god was ordered removed from the pledge.

Your post confuses me. The government, although they sometimes think they are god, cannot set up an official religion, and why would they, its up to the people to get enough followers.

Please note: the easter bunny and Halloween are Pagan festivals.

And where are you getting the cleansing of the Jews from? they practical run America and it is not classed as just a religion, its a race.

Why? Why do you believe the 'cleansing' of religion in The United States "HAS" to end?

You forgot two pagan holidays, christmas and thanksgiving. But, they were adopted by christians. Christs birthday is in april. As for the jewsyou just have to pay attention to the news from the un or iran or turkey or egypt.

But then the catholic church is a pagan church. The followers may be christians.

Religion aside.. We won't say goodbie to Santa, because Christmas is the turning point for most commercialism in the year, and they will not give up sales. Easter belongs to the sugar folks, and they won't give up their sales either. Thanksgiving? That belongs to football which will never die, and the kickoff of the Christmas shopping season, which will never be given up. Halloween belongs to sugar and the, er, horror industry and I doubt that will be let go either.

And kind of from a religious point, if it is atheism.. Santa, Easter bunny, turkeys, and whatever critters stand for Halloween aren't religious figures, so I don't know why they would be affected by folks tuning out the religious aspects of holidays.

And the pledge? It was originally written without God, that was added in later, so I'm not sure why it's a thing if it was taken back out again.

I am curious daniel.. Why do you think Halloween and Thanksgiving are Christian holidays?

Secularism =/= Atheism

Secularism is a religion.

Atheism is a religion.

The government city county state or federal is forbidden to force religion or non-religion down our throats. The united states is a christian state. Our laws are based on it. But the government is forbidden from forcing it or any religion or non-religion down our throats.

City and states are always looking for something new to celabrate. It is at times like this more people blow more money.

Atheism is not a religion, its a person that doesn't believe in any religion. Religion has no place in politics or passing laws. Unless someday you want to find yourself living under Sharia law.

I think people are more down on Muslims than any other religion.

Secularism is a religion.

Atheism is a religion.

Secularism is a religion. What's their holy book? What's their god?

Secularism means APART from God, it has nothing to do with anyone's beliefs.

Hanging out with friends is SECULAR not religious...

don't mean I'm an atheist OR a believer just by that event alone...

.

gotta agree with that.

in all the above-mentioned festivals, religion is a very poor third cousin twice-removed to commercial exploitation.

as rashore pointed out, if aliens were watching us, they'd swear we worshipped sugar.....

The official defacto religon is consumerism.

You are still allowed to buy paraphernalia for any other holiday and celebrate it on your own time with friends and family. We don't need the government picking and choosing for us.

Sooo, Danielost, I guess what you're saying is we have to stop taking Christian symbols out of public places and government buildings (even though they have no business being there)? Are you advocating a return of the Christian religion into all aspects of American life, even though a lot of Americans do not worship your god? Er, what part of the separation between church and state don't you understand here?

And by the way, according to Wikipedia, this was the original pledge:

I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I don't see an 'Under God' in there.

it'd be a very sad world indeed that didn't allow places to put up christmas trees, or egg baskets at easter, or rubber bats and spray-on spiderwebs at hallowe'en.....

I see no prayer in schools, but it is ok in the congress. No ten commandments on the lawn of court houses. But it is ok in the supreme court. Nothing to do with god in public. But it is ok for the president to swear on the bible and say so help me god. No mention of thanksgiving but it is ok to pasrden a turkey. No christmas tree in airports but it is ok to cut one down and put it on the white house lawn. Under god removed from the pledge, but in god we trust.

Or you can't say merry christmas in school, but it is ok to put foot washing sinks in so muslim kids can say their prayers aat the roper tme.

Christmas is about peace and love what is wrong with that. The pagan holiday was about bringing in the new year. Easter is about the resurection, it was about the rebirth of nature.x

Secular doesn't mean atheism, it means religion is irrelevant. Law is based on reason and religion can stay at church. If you want to do your Pagan Christian stuff, it cool but just keep it out of public land places so everyone can do their own thing. Do you want me to hang a big pentacle on Samhain on at the court house? The only way for people to have freedom of religion is make a non issue in government.People should be able believe what they want. That way the laws are based on what the founding fathers wanted in the first place, reason. They didn't call it the age of reason for nothing you know.

But you see the government cannot pass laws ordering me to keep it out of the public space. That would be unconstitutional. If you don't like it in the public space walk by.

The usa is a christian ntion and it will remain one.

If you want to stand in the public space and denouse christiananity go for it, the overnment can't stop you from spouting your religous beliefs.

This reminds me of an indian tribe in colorado ten years or so back. They wanted a school to drop the football teams name because they took offense to it. The school refused, so the tribe decided to fight fire with fire. They opened a web sight to sell things with supposed bad things against whites. The first day their site collapsed from all the orders they got.

One thing you should know mormons don't use the cross. We consider the resurection more important than the methiod of death. We believe the yuman ody is the temple of the world. Which would make us safe fro vampires if they wee real.
