Media and White House conflict of interest

11 posts in this topic

No administration has had more of an incestuous relationship with the media than the Obama team. They have protected him like baby boomers protecting a spoiled, less than intelligent, bully of a child from all that would question his antics. Now we know why. they are all sleeping together, literally! The number of married couples that work in the different camps is astounding and only a truly delusional zealot (we all one) would think there is nothing to this.

While they may not all be sharing info we can at least see how the mob mentality has come to be. They are all of one mind and see the promotion of leftist ideology as a sacred mission to be accomplished by any means.

Journalism in the USA, at least at this level, is now officially dead and it is now time to move on to alternative sources. There are plenty of them and there are alos the overseas papers, especially those in Britain, that aren't afraid to wallop the idiot in teh White House.

Media, administration deal with conflicts

It’s all but a journalistic commandment: Thou shalt not have a vested interest in the story you’re covering. Otherwise, a personal entanglement could color a reporter’s neutrality or cloud public perceptions of fairness. An obvious area of concern: when a journalist’s relatives or spouse is part of the news.

So what to make of all the family ties between the news media and the Obama administration?

According to the news media, nothing much at all. News organizations say they’ve worked out the conflicts — real or potential — involving their journalists. But that hasn’t stopped a few eyebrows from being raised.

The list of prominent news people with close White House relations includes ABC News President Ben Sherwood, who is the brother of Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, a top national-security adviser to President Obama. His counterpart at CBS, news division president David Rhodes, is the brother of Benjamin Rhodes, a key foreign-policy specialist. CNN’s deputy Washington bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Tom Nides, who until earlier this year was deputy secretary of state under Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Further, White House press secretary Jay Carney’s wife is Claire Shipman, a veteran reporter for ABC. And NPR’s White House correspondent, Ari Shapiro, is married to a lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, who joined the White House counsel’s office in April.

Not much difference in the Bush White House and this one. Wonder what the next one will be like. Same ole same ole I'm sure.

I really don't see the big deal about married people working together.

I don't have a problem with married people working together, unless one is the fox and the other is the sheepdog. Then it seems a conflict of interest.

Battered wife syndrome for sure. He and his goons have treated them shabbily and abusively, even attacking them on a personal level with threats of prosecution, yet they always take their man back and cover for him. Disgusting and terrifying since the press has always been a bulwark to tyranny. Not anymore. Goebbels couldn't ask for more.
