Guide To Finding Ghosts (poem)

4 posts in this topic

if you've ever felt trapped in your body

it's because you remember being free

before you were a baby

the progression of time as linear

breaks down with every glimpse

from the other side

someone is trying to tell you hi

dreams of doors

don't be scared to walk through

shadows are sheltering

in your energy as one of the living

under the single star in our sky

where souls are recycled

nothing every truly dies

feeling those watching you

to turn and see no one there

it's yourself trying to return

to influence events among the breathing

the difficulty in talking to others

further complicated by dimensions

recognizing all your forms of being

exist at once

whole trains of thought go missing

coming back when too late

they are no closer at the grave

then when you are alone in bed

we still need more help from others

to get your message across

don't look on photos or in machines

we're in your heart and your dreams

Liked this a lot. Liked the idea and its expression. Particularly I liked the last stanza.

Thank you SW and pantodragon.

The last stanza and last two lines especially were a stand against the human over-reliance on technology.

As much as I am a fan of digital there is still much to be said for analog and good old human mythology. Maybe we will find a healthy balance soon?
