willowdreams Posted July 6, 2013 #51 Share Posted July 6, 2013 OK, animals yeah but I thought they never found the "missing Link" connecting apes to humans? OK, animals yeah but I thought they never found the "missing Link" connecting apes to humans? Do you really expect everything to be found? the fossils we have found are amazing, wonderful.. but seriously, i wonder how many are not found? What if there was a place where the 'missing link' would be found, perhaps a whole area where they lived.. but alas an earthquake, and the ground opens up taking it away.. what if a volcano erupted.. and it is now gone. What if it is underwater now, deep and we cannot find it at this time. What if we will find it tomorrow? There are chances of never finding it, because of natural disasters.. and that is ok. There has never been found a link to god either. More has been found for evolution, then for creation.
Q-C Posted July 6, 2013 #52 Share Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) It is harder for a woman, because once a man becomes baptized, she is no longer allowed to teach them.. UNLESS she wears a head covering signifying that the man is 'head' over her... as christ is head over man. It is still encouraged though for the men to be teaching baptized men. Even at the hall meetings, if a woman is called upon to do an opening or closing prayer, she rises, and places a covering over her head signifying she is under the man.. man is over her.. and christ is over him.. I had no idea witnesses wore head coverings. I used to know several women who wore them of another faith It was always funny when a woman (not JW) who wore them to show (in public) how they were under their husband's authority and yet nagged at him and yelled at him and disobeyed him at home. Including talking bad about him to friends. How can their children be expected to respect anything they sa ------------- Thank you, willow. My dad became terminally ill not long after all this. Oddly, my cousins never tried to convert my dad (his illness lasted 2 years until his death) or my married sister's family. And as far as my grandma they just inundated her with books and pamphlets and Watchtower, but never said much to her. And they never talked to me or my mom about their faith.
