Woman photographs UFO over Hull

Recommended Posts

Jean Dearing had been collecting her laundry when she spotted something strange in the sky.

Jean Dearing was on the terrace of her home on Southcoates Lane, when she saw lights hovering in the sky on Monday night. She said she grabbed her camera and took as many photographs of the UFO as she could.

For the life of me, I can't see why she couldn't have been collecting laundry from the terrace. :innocent:

Ok, I am from Hull. I also know the Southcoates Lane area very well as i grew up there.

Knowing what i know about 'Ull' and the people there, it makes this more difficult to understand. Usually i would have said straight away, why was she bringing the washing in in the dark? But there are people there who go shopping in their nightwear and slippers, or sit in their front gardens on crusty old sofas drinking cheap lager, so that wouldn't be that out of place lol. It is probably worth mentioning a few other things about 'Ull'.

The area where this is taken is the very outskirts of a large council estate (Preston Road). If you know who Vicky Pollard (Little Britain) is, or know what Chavs are, then that gives you a good idea of the high majority of the populous of the area.

I was in 'Ull' a week ago, and saw (during the day) a remote controlled drone type thing with 4 rotors on it like this:

Which if fitted with lights would look quite similar. Whilst looking for that picture i found this:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?rlz=1W4CHBA_enGB542&q=remote+control+helicopter+drone&bav=on.2,or.&bvm=bv.49784469,d.Yms,pv.xjs.s.en_US.MpiVkF51mpA.O&biw=1280&bih=855&wrapid=tljp137510352898630&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=KWr2Uf8sw6eEB7_0gbAN#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=vW0grQry5YBzsM%3A%3BAgGrAYC8PS8VkM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fi.telegraph.co.uk%252Fmultimedia%252Farchive%252F01582%252Fdrone_1582834c.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.telegraph.co.uk%252Ftechnology%252Fgoogle%252F7936849%252FGoogle-executive-buys-spy-drone-amid-claims-it-will-be-used-for-Street-View.html%3B460%3B287

Which shows that the police (this is Merseyside [Liverpool]) use drones, so Humberside [Hull & Surrounding] police could use them also??

It should also be pointed out that the Humberside Police helicopter/s do not have rear rotor blades, which makes them extremely quiet at lower altitude in residential areas. The area is quite a high crime area, and the chopper can be seen hovering most nights around various estates, and from a few miles away it is virtually if not totally silent.

Humberside Police Helicopter: Note lack of rear rotor...

In conclusion i don't know what it could have been, but i'm sure if it was anything totally out of the ordinary plenty of other locals would be jumping on the bandwagon for their 15 minutes of fame, the area is busy at all times of the day and night, and there is probably a very reasonable explanation, but who knows :D
