Lucid Dreaming

I am not sure i understand this. Lucid dreaming and particularly controlled or cereated lucid dreaming Is "limited" by your imagination?

Lucid dreaming is where you become consciously aware of your mind 's subconscious processing of your thoughts and experiences. Unless you are a totally unimaginative person who never watches any tv or reads any books, lucid dreaming should allow you to experience ANYTHING.

As a young child i created lucid landscapes of sapient animal characters with specialist clothing, tools, weapons and housing etc, dwarves goblins flying horses etc.

As a young teenager i moved on to flying dragons, planes, carpets, jousting, flying saucers, haunted houses and a whole universe of interconnected places i called, "The realms"

Then in later teenage years i moved into women of all sorts and forms, from aliens through to any human form that took my fancy LAter, as an adult, i didnt spend so much time lucid dreaming, as I had a lot of real life to live, but in my retirement I am re-working my lucid dreaming for a number of purposes, including seeing the world, exploring history, talking to dead relatives, as well as a mix of sexual and other fantasy, which keeps me entertained.

My point is this. How can you be limited or bored when you can construct any landscape you like, populate it with any creatures. you want and then become any character you desire, male female or alien?

You can even consciously begin to design the climate, topography, ecology, and sociology of the places you create.

I loved playing wow online for several years inmy late fifties, because it was the closest thing to inhabiting the worlds i created during lucid dreaming as a teenager, and almost as realistic and interactive, but without the senses of smell, taste, touch and emotion, you can have in dreams.

I just meant that there are things our unconscious mind might dream up that our conscious mind would never think of in a thousand years.

When I lucid dream I mostly dream about the characters and world that I’m trying to write a book about. But my unconscious dreams are so bizarre and are things I would never think of.

Like the last one I had; I was working at a Kid Rock Concert and Kid rock was out in front of the gate playing before it started and no one knew it was him but me. Like dreams do it jumps to me back stage and I have to get to the other side to bring food. But instead of just going behind the stage I go outside and around the side were I have to get on a train and go up the side of a mountain. (I have no idea why but in my dream I know I have to race another person to get up the mountain, at this point of the dream it has nothing to do with Kid Rock). I miss the train and as I watch it go up the side of the mountain opens up a door and out steps a guy in a white turban and white loincloth he waves me over and shows me a small rickety track going up the inside of the mountain that I can use a cart on to catch up with the train. So I hop on it and it starts to speed up the track. Up ahead on the track is another cart with people in it that I bump into and send flying off the track into a bottomless pit. Now up ahead is a gigantic face and the track goes into its mouth but the mouth is closed and the track spits into a 100 different ones after the mouth with one going on and the others ending at different things that will kill me. As I get up to the face it is now small and I put my arm into its mouth to open it and my arm gets stuck and that’s when I woke up.

So yeah, absolutely bizarre and something I would never think up while lucid dreaming.

I don't remember enough of my dreams to say if they were lucid or not.

can a person teach themselves to lucid dream? I wouldn't think so

Who told you that? In my city we have school for Lucid dreamers.

But you can practice on your own.
