Hitler

Maybe 'donk has it right. Even allowing for Argentinian massage therapists and teams of vegan Brazilian enema specialists, the H-Man would have been 128 years old this year. So, as donkster would have it, he's long dead. (if he had a recognizable grave, other than just the huge hole in 20th century civilization which continues to attract a fringe group of disconnected, disaffected and disoriented followers who continue to celebrate the birthday and "legacy" of this twisted piece of excrement).

If we knew where to do it, I'd like to join 'donktheclown' and all others so oriented to quaff a few in the name of justice, and then solemnly micturate upon his grave.

A lot of high ranking Nazis escaped to South America. There was one, Martin Bohrmann who faked his death and escaped to South America. I think he died there not long after that of stomach cancer. Him and Hitler were close. They did a good Mystery quest episode of Nazis escaping to South America called Rise of the Fourth Reich. It can be seen on Youtube. It's really a good episode...

Martin Bormann's remains were found in 1972 near Berlin Central station, dental records and an injury to the collar bone which was consistent with an injury he sustained in life verified this.

Is there an "official" grave of hitler anywhere?

Hitlers remains were cremated and thrown into the Elbe. All family headstones were removed from their graves including his parents in recent times and I believe their remains were also moved.

Incidently Belgian researchers claimed to have found 39 or more living relatives of Hitler but this was never independantly verified.

That skull the Russians had turned out to be be a women's skull.

Hilter had 5 body doubles one was killed by the Russians and they though it was really hitler but it was not.

I think he got out alive and went to South America

Nah, that's not crazy enough. How about this - he moved in with his annoying nephew William Hitler on Long Island... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Patrick_Hitler

During the first Gulf War there were pictures of Hitler arriving in Kuwait via cigar boat to give strategic advice to Sadham in the weekly world news. (I miss that tabloid)

From a different angle. As many who suffered under the nazis are still alive, and those events will still be in living memory for several more decades to come. Then we all will have a certain opinion on what happened, and it is not a good opinion. Yet in years to come, when the grandchildren or great grandchildren of those who suffered have grown old and died, then I think a different view will be held. I could see than in another 100 years or more, Hitler and his acolytes will probably be seen as not much more than pantomime villains, and the reality will become the preserve of scholars. Napoleon, though not a mass murdering monster, was in his time seen in almost as bad a light as Hitler is now, yet the fact of him being a dictator wanting to rule all of Europe, and responsible by his wars of agression for countless deaths and misery, is hidden in tales of the exciting battles and colorful uniforms. Those in the future may see us as being short sighted for destroying remnants of what is still left of the Third Reich. I think if you asked a Russian, Briton, Prussian or Austrian back in 1815 if they thought it a good idea for a grand tomb for Napoleon, you would probably get a rather bad tempered reply. Yet we have Les Invalides. I would not bet against a mausoleum for Hitler being erected at some time in the future, and perfectly decent and ordinary people wishing his body was still in existance. Well, maybe our great great grandchildren will see if this happens...

I watched on MysteryQuest last night that his body was never found, just some teeth.

There are theories that he had plastic surgery, a body double (which he know doubt had several, and one of those were killed, or even because a woman and moved to South America.

I think most likely, he had quite a few facial surgeries and moved out of Europe.

The Vatican signed agreements with Germany for them to go and carve out a new Reich for the Church. It wouldn't surprise me if thats where the request to genocide the Jews came from and if the Vatican was Hitlers retirement home.

Interesting post, K-T. You're right--it only took 25 years to re-patriate Bonaparte's bones from St. Helena to Les Invalides. It's possible that the mass industrialized slaughter of human beings orchestrated by Hitler could be enough to seal his ignominy forever. But, as you note in another thread, Orwell pointed out in Animal Farm that we are fickle creatures, and yesterday's foe is today's friend.
